David's confidence in Gods grace.

PSALM XXVII.

Nto thee will I ery, O Loan my rock;

be not filent to me: lett, if thou be tilent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

Hear the voice of my fupplications when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity; which fpeak peace to their neighbours, but mitchief is in their hearts.

4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endea yours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their defert.

5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he fall deftroy them, and not build them up.

6 Bielied he the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my fupplications.

7 The LORD is my ftrength and my thield; my heart trufted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth, and with my forg will I praife him."

PSALM XXX.

1 David praijeth God for his deliverance: 4 he exhorteth athers to praife him, by example of Gods dealing with him.

Wie extol thee, O Lt not for my hots lifted me up, and hatt not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou haft healed me.

3 O LORD, thou hatt brought up my foul from the grave; thou hall kept me alive, that I fhould not go down to the pit.

4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye faints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holinets.

5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

6 And in my profperity I faid, I thall never be moved.

7 LORD, by thy favour thou haft made my mountain to Itand ftrong: thou didit hide thy face, and I was troubled.

PSALM XXXI

1 David fhewing his confidence in God, craveth his help: 7 he rejoiceth in his mercy: 9 prayeth in his calamity: 19 he praifeth God for his goodness.

To the chief mufician. A pfalm of David. N thee, O LORD, do I put my trut; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteoufnefs.

8 And haft not thut me up into the Pand of the enemy: thou hatt let my feet in a large room.

ilave mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble; mine eye is confumed with grief, yea, my foul and my belly.

10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with fighing: my strength faileth be caufe of mine iniquity, and my bones are confumed,

11 I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but efpecially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance; they that did fee me without, fled from me...

12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken veel.

14 But I truffed in thee, O LORD: I faid, thou art my God.

15 My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mite enemies, and from them that perfecute me.

21 Blefed be the LORD; for he bath thewed me his marvellous kindnefs in a strong city.

23 O love the LORD, all ye his faints: for the LORD preferveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

PSALM XXXII. God is to be praised for his goodness, 6 for his power, 12 and for his providence. 20 Confidence is to be placed in God.

Rjoice in the LORD, O ye righteous; for

praife is comely for the upright.

2 Praile the LORD with harp: fing unto him with the plaitery, and an inftrument of ten ftrings.

4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

21 Evil thall flay the wicked; and they that hate the righteous thall be desolate.

22 The LORD redeemeth the foul of his fervants: and none of them that truft in him fhall be defolate.

PSALM XXXV.

David prayeth for his own fafety, and his enemies confufion: 11 he complaineth of their rorongful dealing: 22 thereby he incitrth God against them.

13 Our foul waiteth for the Logp; he is ad my caufe, O LORD, with them that

He tranfgreffion of the wicked, faith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wife, and to do good.

4 He devifeth mifchief upon his bed; he fetteth himmelf in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

5 Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens, and thy faithfulness rencheth unto the clouds. 6 Thy righteouiness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: 0 LORD thou prefervett man and beatt.

7 How excellent is thy loving-kindnets, O God! therefore the children of men put their truft under the thadow of thy wings.

8 They thall be alindantly fatisfied with the fatnefs of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleafures.

9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light thall we fee light.

David persuadeth to patience, and confidence in God, by the different efiate of the godly and the quicked.

5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; truit alfo in him, and he thall bring it to pais:

6 And he thall bring forth thy righteouf nets as the light, and thy judgment as the noon-day.

7 Rett in the LoBD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who profpereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pafs.

8 Cease from anger, and forlake, wrath: fret not thyfelf in any wife to do evil.
