33 And in the cutting of ftones to fet them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.

34 And he hath put in his heart that he Ahifamach, of the tribe of Dan. may teach, both he and Aholiab, the fon of

2 And Mofes called Bezalcel and Aholiab, the LORD had put wisdom, even every one and every wife-hearted man, in whofe heart whofe heart ttirred him up to come unto the work to do it.

3 And they received of Mofes all the offering which the children of Ifrael had brought, to make it withal. And they brought yet for the work of the fervice of the fanctuary. unto him free-offerings every morning.

41 And all the wife men, that wroughtall the work of the fanctuary, came every man from his work which they made;

5 And they spake unto Mofes, laying. The people bring much more than enough for the fervice of the work which the Lond commanded to make,

6 And Mofes gave commandment, and they caufed it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, faying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the fanctuary. So the people were retrained from bringing.

7 For the ftuff they had was fufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

8 And every wife-hearted man, among nacle, made ten curtains of fine twined i them that wrought the work of the taber

11 And likewife for the north fide in length there fhall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars, and their twenty fackets of brafs: the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of filver.

12 And for the breadth of the court, on the wet fide, fhall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their fockets ten. 13 And the breadth of the court on the eat fide, eastward, fhall be fifty cubits.

14 The hangings of one tide of the gate shall be fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their fockets three.

15 And on the other fide fhall be hangings, fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and Tcarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needle work; and their pillars shall be four, and their fockets four.

17 All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with filver: their hooks fhall be of filver, and their fockets of brafs.

18 The length of the court fhall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen, and their fockets of brass.

19 All the veffels of the tabernacle, in all the fervice thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, fhall be of brass. 201 And thou shalt command the children of Ifrael, that they bring the pure oil-olive beaten for the light, to caufe the lamp to burn always.

21 In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the teftimony, Aaron and his fons fhall order it from evening to morning before the LORD. shall be a itatute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Ifrael. CHAP. XXVIII.

Nd take thou unto thee Aaron thy bro

Ather, and his fons with him, from among the children of Ifracl, that he may minifter unto me in the priests office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abiliu, Eleazer and Ithamar, Aarons fons.

And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, for glory and for beauty. 3 And thou fhalt fpeak unto all that are wife-hearted, whom I have filled with the fpirit of wifdom, that they may make Aarons garments to confecrate him, that he may minifter unto me in the priefts office.

4 And thefe are the garments which they fball make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and abroidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they thall make holy gar ments for Aaron thy brother, and his fons, that he may minifter unto me in the priests office.

5 And they hall take gold, and blue, and purple, and fearlet, and line linen.

6 And they thall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and af purple, of fearlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.

7 It all have the two fhoulder-picces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it fhall be joined together.

8 And the curious girdle of the ephod which is upon it, thall be of the fame, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of hiue, and purple, and fcarlet, and fine twined linen.

9 And thou thalt take two onyx-ftones, and grave on them the names of the children of Ifrael;

TO Six of their names on one flone, and the other fix names of the rett on the other ftone, according to their birth.

11 With the work of an engraver in ftone, like the engravings of a figuet, shalt thou engrave the two ftones with the names of the children of Ifrael: thou thalt make them to be fet in ouches of gold.

12 And thou thalt put the two ftones upon the fhoulders of the ephod, for ftones of memorial unto the children of Ifrael. And Aa ron fhall bear their names before the Loxo upon his two thoulders for a memorial.

13 And thou thalt make ouches of gold; 14 And two chains of pure gold at the ends of wreathen-work halt thou make them, and fatten the wreathen-chains to the ouches.

15 And thou shalt make the breaftplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou thalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of fcarlet, and of fine twined linen, thou fhalt make it.

16 Four-fquare it thall be, being doubled; a fpan fhall be the length thereof, and a fpan thall be the breadth thereof.

17 And thou shalt fet it in fettings of ftones, even four rows of tones; the fut row fhall be a fardius, a topaz, and á carbuncle: this shall be the first row.

18 And the fecond row fhall be an emerald, a fapphire, and a diamond.

19 And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyft.

20 And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jafper: they fhall be fet in gold in their inclofings.

21 And the ftones fhall be with the names

of the children of Ifrael, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a fignet; every one with his name fhall they be according to the twelve tribes.

22 And thou shalt make upon the breaftplate chains at the ends, of wreathen-work, of pure gold.

23 And thou fhalt make upon the breaftplate two rings of gold, and fhalt put the two rings on the two ends of the breaftplate. chains of gold in the two rings, which are on 24 And thou fhait put the two wreathen the ends of the breaftplate.

25 And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fatten in the two ouches, and put them on the thoulder-pieces of the ephod before it.

26 And thou fhalt make two rings of gold, and thou thalt put them upon the two ends of the breastplate, in the border thereof, which is in the fide of the ephod inward.

28 And they fhall bind the breaftplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loofed from the ephod.

29 And Aaron fhall bear the names of the children of Ifrael in the breaftplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the Loup continually.

30 T And thou shalt put in the breaftplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they thall be upon Aarons heart when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron fhall bear the judgment of the children of Ifrael upon his heart before the LORD continually.

31 And thou fhalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.

32 And there fhall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it thall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.

33 And beneath, upon the hem of it, thou thalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of fcarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about.

34 A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about.

35 And it thall be upon Aaron to minifter: and his found fhall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not.

36 And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave npon it, like the engravings of a fignet, HOLINESS TO THE

LORD.

37 And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre: upon the fore-front of the mitre it shall be.

38 And it thall be upon Aarons forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Ifrael thall hallow in all their holy gifts and it fhall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.

39 And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre of fine linen, and thou fhalt make a girdle of needle-work.

40 And for Aarons fons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdies, and bonnets fhalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty:

41 And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his fons with him: and fhalt anoint them, and confecrate them, and fanc tify them, that they may minister unto me in the priests office.

42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach.

43 And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his fons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minifter in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die. It fhall be a itatute for ever unto him, and his feed after him.

CHAP. XXIX.
I The facrifice and ceremonies of confecrating
the priefs. 38 The continual burnt-offering.
ANd this is the thing that thou shalt do

unto them, to hallow them, to mini-. fter unto me in the pricfts office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemith,

2 And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil; of wheaten flour fhalt thou make them.

3 And thou fhalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the but lock and the two rams.

4 And Aaron and his fons thou fhalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and fhalt wath them with water.

5 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ep! od, and the breaftplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod:

6 And thou that put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre. 7 Then thalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him. 8 And thou shalt bring his fons, and put coats upon them.

9 And thou shalt gird them with girdles, (Aaron and his fons,) and put the bonnets on them; and the priests office fhall be theirs for a perpetual ftatute: and thou fhalt confecrate Aaron and his fons.

10 And thou shalt caufe a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his fons all put their hands upon the head of the bullock.

11 And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

12 And ou fhalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood befide the bottom of the altar.

13 And thou fhalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.

14 But the flesh of the bullock, and his fkin, and his dung, fhalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a fin-offering.

15 Thou shalt alfo take one ram; and Aa ron and his fons fhall put their hands upon the head of the ram.

16 And thou, fhalt flay the ram, and thou fhalt take his blood, and prinkle it round about upon the altar.

17 And thou fhalt cut the ram in pieces, and wath the inwards of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces, and unto his head.

18 And thou shalt burn the whole ram up. on the altar; it is a burnt-offering unto the LORD: it is a fweet favour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

19 And thou thalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his fons fhall put their hands upon the head of the ram.

20 Then thalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his fons, and upon the thumb of

II And the anointing oil, and sweet incenfe for the holy place: according to all that I have commanded thee thall they do. 12 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Mofes, faying,

13 Speak thou also unto the children of If rael, faying, Verily my fabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a fign between me and you throughout your generations, that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth fanctify you.

14 Ye thall keep the fabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you. Every one that defileth it fhall furely be put to death: for whofoever doeth any work therein, that foul fhall be cut off from among his people.

15 Six days may work be done; but in the feventh is the fabbath of reft, holy to the LORD: whofoever doethany work in the fabbath-day, he thall furely be put to death.

16 Wherefore the children of Ifrael thall keep the fabbath, to obferve the fabbath throughout theit geserations, for a perpetual covenant.

17 It is a fign between me and the children of Ifrael for ever: for in fix days the LORD made haven and earth, and on the feventh day lie refted, and was refreshed.

18-1 And he gave unto Mofes, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of teftimony, tables of ilone, written with the ruger of God. CHAP. XXXII. The people caufe Aaron to make a calf. 19 Mofes Breaketh the tables. 25 The idolaters Alain. 30 Mofes proyeth. A layed to come town out of the mount, the people gathered themelves together unto Aaron, and faid unto him, Up, make us gods which thall go before us; for, as for This Mofes, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

2 And Aaron faid unto them, Break off the golden ear-rings which are in the cars of your wives, of your fons, and of your daughters and bring them unto me.

3 And all the people brake off the golden ear-rings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf; and they faid, Thefe be thy gods, O Ifrael, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and faid, To-morrow is a fealt to the LORD.

6'And they rofe up early on the morrow, and offered burnt-offerings, and brought peace-offerings:, and the people fat down to eat and to drink, and role up to play.

7 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou Broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themfelves:

8 They have turned afide quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have facrificed thereunto, and faid, "Thefe be thy gods, O ifrael, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

9 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, I have feen this people, and, behold, it is a fish necked people.

10 Now, therefore, let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may confume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

11 And Mofes befought the LORD his God, and faid, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou haft brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?

12 Wherefore fhould the Egyptians fpeak, and fay, For inifchief did he bring them out, to flay them in the mountains, and to confume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.

13 Remember Abraham, Ifaac, and liael, thy fervants, to whom thou wareft by thine own felf, and faid unto them, I will mul tiply your feed as the itais of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your feed, and they thall inherit it for ever.

14 And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

15 And Mofes turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the teftimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their fides; on the one fide and on the other ture they written.

16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

17 And when Joshua beard the noise of the people as they thonted, he faid unto Mofes, There is a noife of war in the camp.

18 And he said, It is not the voice of them that thout for maftery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome; but the noise of them that sing do I hear.

19 And it came to pafs, affoon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he faw the calf, and the dancing: and Moles anger waxed hot, and he caff the tables out of his hands, and brake them bencath the mount.

20 And he took the calf which they had made, and burst it in the fire, and ground if to powder, and trawed it upon the water, and made the children of Ifrael drink of it.

21 And Mofes faid unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou haft brought fo great a tin upon them?

22 And Aaron faid, Let not the anger of

my lord wax hot: thou knowet the people, that they are jet on mifchief.

22 For they faid unto me, Make us gods which hall go before us: for, as for this mo fes, the man that brought us up ont of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become

of him.

24 And I faid unto them, Whofoever bath any gold, let them break off. So they gave me; then 1 cast into the fire, and there came out this calf.

23 And when Mofes faw that the people werenaked, (for Aaron had made them naked unto their thame among their enemies,)

26 Then Mofes itood in the gate of the camp, and faid, Who is on the LORDS fide? let him come unto me. And all the luns of Levi gathered themselves together unto aku.

27 And he faid unto them, Thus faith the LORD God of Ifrael, Put every man his fword y his fide, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and flay every man his brother, and every man his coin panion, and every man his neighbour..

28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moles: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

29 For Mofes had faid, Conlecrate your feives to-day to the LORD, even every man upon his fon, and upon his brother; that he may beltow upon you a bleffing this day.

30 And it came to país on the morrow, that Mofes faid unto the people, Ye have finned a great fin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your fin.

31 And Moles returned unto the LORD, and faid, Oh, this people have finned a great fin, and have made them gods of gold.

32 Yet now, if thou wilt, forgive their fin: and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou haft written.

33 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, Whofoever hath finned againit me, him will I blot out of my book.

34 Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have fpoken unto thee. Behold, mine angel thall go before thee: nevertheless, in the day when I vitit, I will vifit their fin upon them..

35 And the LORD plagued the people, becaule they made the calf which Aaron niade

CHAP. XXXIII,

The Lord refufeth to go with the people. 9 The Lord talketh with Mofes. 18 Mujes defireth to fee the glory of God. Ar the usb thou Mode Shepparte and go up hence, thou and the people which thou haft brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I fware unto Abraham, to Ifaac, and to Jacob, faying, Unto thy feed will I give it:

2 And I will fend an angel before thee, and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebufite;

3 Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midft of thee, for thou art a ftiff-necked people; left I confume thee in the way.

4 And when the people heard thefe evil tidings they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.

5 For the LORD had faid unto Mofes, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a ftiff necked people; I will come up into the midit of thee in a moment, and confume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee. 6 And the children of Ifrael ftripped themfelves of their ornaments by the mount Ploreb.

7 And Mofes took the tabernacle, and

pitched it without the camp far off from

the camp, and called it, The Tabernacle of the Congregation. And it came to pafs, that every one which fought the Loup went out into the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.

8 And it came to pals, when Mofes went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people

rofe up, and flood every man at his tentdoor, and looked after Mofes, until he was gone into the tabernacle.

9 And it came to pafs, as Mofes entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar defcended, and food at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Mofes.

10 And all the people faw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle-door: and all the people rofe up and worthipped, every inan in his tent-door.

11 And the LORD fpake unto Mofes face to face, as a man fpeaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp; but his fervant Joshua, the fon of Nun, a young inan, departed not out of the tabernacle.

iz T And Mofes said unto the LORD, See, thou fayett unto me, Bring up this people; and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt fend with me: yet thou haft faid, I know thee by name, and thou hast alfo found grace in my fight.

13 Now, therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy fight, fhew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy fight; and confider that this nation is thy people.

14 And he faid. My prefence fhall go with thee, and I will give thee reft.

15 And he laid unto him, If thy prefence go not with me, carry us not up fence.

16 For wherein fhall it be known here, that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? Is it not in that thou zoett with us? fo thall we be feparated, I an. thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

17 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, I will

do this thing alfo that thou hart spoken: for thou haft found grace in my tight, and I know thee by name.

18 And he faid, I befeech thee, fhew me thy glory.

19 And he faid, I will make all my goodnefs pafs before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will hew inercy on whom I will thew mercy.

20 And he faid, Thou canst not fee my face: for there thall no man fee me, and live.

21 And the LORD faid, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt ftand upon a rock

12 And it shall come to pals, while my glory paffeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock. and will cover thee with my hand while I pafs by;

23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou fhalt fee my back-parts; but my face thall not be feen.

CHAP. XXXIV. 1 The tables are renerved. 5 The name of the LORD proclaimed. 10 God maketh a co

venant with them.

Nd the LORD

A the two tables of tone like unto the

firft; and I will write upon thefe tables the words that were in the firit tables, which thou brakeft.

2 And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and prefent thyfelf there to me in the top of the mount.
