18 And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread nor drink water, becaufe of all your fins which ye finned, in doing wickedly in the fight of the LORD, to prooke him to anger.

19 (For I was afraid of the anger and hot dit pleafure wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to deftroy you.) But the LORD hearkened unto ine at that time alfo.

20 And the LORD was very angry with Aaron to have deftroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron alfo the fame time.

21 And I took your tin, the calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire, and ftamp ed it, and ground it very fmall, even until it was as fmall as duft and I caft the duft thereof into the brook that defcended out of the mount.

22 And at Taberal, and at Malah, and at Kibroth-hattaavah, ye provoked the LORD to

wrath.

23 Likewife, when the LORD fent you from Kadeh-barnea,faying, Go up and poffefs the land which I have given you; then yerebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.

24 Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

25 Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the fir; becaufe the LORD had faid he would deftroy you.

26 I prayed, therefore, unto the LORD, and faid, O LORD God, destroy not thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou haft redeemed through thy greatness, which thou haft brought forthout of Egypt with a mighty hand.

27 Remember thy fervants Abraham, Ifaac, and Jacob: look not unto the stubbornnefs of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their fin;

28 Left the land whence thou broughitett us out fay, Becaufe the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promifed them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to flay them in the wilderness.

29 Yet they are thy people, and thine nheritance, which thou broughteft out by thy mighty power, and by thy ftretched-out

arm.

5 And I turned myfelf, and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made, and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.

6 And the children of Ifrael took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakin to Mofera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his fon miniftered in the pricfts office in his ftead. 7 From thence they journeyed unto Godgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, aland of rivers of waters.

8 At that time the LORD feparated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to ftand before the LORD, to minifter unto him, and to blefs in his name, unto this day.

9 Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inhe ritance with his brethren: the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promifed hin.

10 And I ftayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights, and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time alfo, and the LORD would not deftroy thee.

11 And the LORD faid unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and poffefs the landwhich I fware unto their fathers to give unto them.

12 And now, Ifracl, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to ferve the LORD thy God with all. thy heart, and with all thy foul,

13 To keep the commandments of the Loan, and his ftatutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

14 Behold, the heaven, and the heaven of heavens, is the LORDS, thy God; the earth alfa, with all that therein is.

15 Only the LORD had a delight in thy fa-1 thers to love them, and he chofe their feed after them, even you, above all people, as it is this day.

16 Circumcife, therefore, the foreskin of your heart, and be no more ftiff-necked,

17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not perfons, nor taketh reward..

18 He doth execute the judgment of the fatherlefs and widow, and loveth the franger, in giving him food and raiment.

19 Love ye, therefore, the stranger: for ye were ftrangers in the land of Egypt.

20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him fhalt thou ferve, and to him thalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

21 Heir thy praife, and he is thy God,that hath done for thee thefe great and terrible things which thine eyes have feen.

22 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threefcere and ten perfons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of hea ven for multitude.

4 And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horfes, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red fea to overflow them as they purfued after you, and how the LORD hath deftroyed them unto this day;

5 And what he did unto you in the wildernels, untilye came into this place;

10 For the land, whither thou goeft in to poffefs it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou lowedit thy feed, and wateredit it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:

11 But the land, whither ye go to poffels it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven;
