D. 32. washed his hands before the multitude, | καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου· καί· Ὁ κακολογῶν saying, I am innocent of the blood of πατέρα, ἢ μητέρα, θανάτῳ τελευτάτω· this just person: see ye to it, Matt. xxvii. 24. And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner, Luke xi. 38. VER. 7. For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: VER. 11. Ὑμεῖς δὲ λέγετε· Ἐὰν εἴπῃ ἄνθρωπος τῷ πατρὶ ἢ τῇ μητρὶ· Κορβᾶν (ὅἐστι, δῶρον) ὃ ἐὰν ἐξ ἐμοῦ ὠφεληθῇς. But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free, VER. 12. Καὶ οὐκέτι ἀφίετε αὐτὸν οὐδὲν ποιῆσαι τῷ πατρὶ αὑτοῦ, ἢ τῇ μητρὶ αὑτοῦ. for his father or his mother ; VER. 13. ̓Ακυροῦντες τὸν λόγον τοῦ Θεοῦ τῇ παραδόσει ὑμῶν, ᾗ παρεδώκατε· καὶ παρί'μοια τοιαῦτα πολλὰ ποιεῖτε. Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered and many such like things do ye. VER. 14. Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος πάντα τὸν ὄχλον, Μάτην δὲ σέβονταί με διδάσκοντες διδασ- ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· ̓Ακούετέ μου πάντες, καὶ καλίας ἐντάλματα ἀνθρώπων. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Καὶ ἐκεῖθεν ἀναστὰς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὰ με θόρια Τύρου καὶ Σιδῶνος· καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν, οὐδένα ἤθελε γνῶναι· καὶ οὐκ ηδυνήθη λαθεῖν. A. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying, Mark v. 40. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought, viii. 23. Εἶτα πάλιν ἐπέθηκε τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτὸν ἀναβλέψαι· καὶ ἀποκατεστάθη, καὶ ἐνέβλεψε τηλαυγώς ἅπαντας. After that, he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up : and he was restored, a and saw every man clearly. a And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness, Isa. xxix. 18.
