1st P. M. 6 lines 8s.

Its institution.
IN that sad, nemorable night,

us , He left his death-recording rite:

He took, and blest, and brake the bread;
And gave his own their last bequest,
And thus his love's intent expressid :-
2 Take, eat, this is my body, given

To purchase life and peace for you
Pardon, and holiness, and heaven:

Do this, my dying love to show :
Accept your precious legacy,
And thus, my friends, remember me.
8 He took into his hands the cup,

To crown the sacramental feast,
And, full of kind concern, look'd up,

And gave to them what he had blest; And, -Drink ye all of this, -- he said,la solemn mem'ry of the dead. 4 This is my blood, which seals the new

Eternal cov'nant of my grace:
My blood, so freely shed for you,

For you and all the sinful race:
My blood, that speaks your sins forgiven,
And justifies your claim to heaven.

2 To keep the feast, Lord, we have met,

And to remember thee:
Help each poor trembler to repeat;--

For me he died, for me!
3 Thy sulföringa, Lord, each sacred sign

To our renlembrance brings :
We eat the bread, and drink the wine,

But think on nobler things.
40 tune our tongues, and set in frame
Each heart that pants for thee,
To sing, --Hosanna to the Lamb,

The Lamb that died for nie!

Approaching the table.
JESUS, at whose supreme coinmand,
Before us in thy vesture stand,

Thy vesture dipp'd in blood.
2 Now, Saviour, now thyself reveal,

And make thy nature known;
Affix thy blessed Spirit's seal,

And stamp us for thine own.
8 The tokens of thy dying love,

O let us all receive,
And feel the quick’ning Spirit move,

And sensibly beliete.
4 The cup of blessing, blest by thee,

Let it thy blood impart;
The bread thý mystic body be,

To cheer each languid heart.
6 The living bread sent down from heaven,

In us vouchsafe to be:
Thy flesh for all the world is given,

And all may live by thee.

of heaven his table spreads, Not Paradise, with all its joys,

Could such 'delight afford.
2 Pardon and peace to dying mon,

And endless life are given,
Through the rich blood that Jesus shed,

To raise our souls to heaven.
8 Millions of souls, in glory now,

Were fed and feasted here;
And millions more, still on the way,

Around the board appear.
4 All things are ready, come away,

Nor weak excuses frame; Crowd to your places at the feast,

And bless the Founder's name. 267

Our Paschal Lamb.

The bleeding Saviour's name, Their faithful hearts with us prepare,

And eat the Paschal Lamb. 2 This eucharistic feast,

Our every want supplies, And still we by his death are blest,

And share bis sacrifice.
3 Who thus our faith employ,

His suff'rings to record,
E'en now we mournfully enjoy

Communion with our Lord. 4 We too with him are dead,

And shall with him arise ; The cross on which he bows his head

Shall lift us to the skies.

Grateful remembrance,
A

CCORDING to thy gracious word,

In meek humility,
This will I do, my dying Lord,

I will remember thee.
9 Thy body, broken for my sake,
My bread from heaven shall be:
Thy testamental cup I take,

And thus remember thee,
3 Gethsemane can I forget!

Or there thy conflict see,
Thine agony and bloody sweat,

And not remember thee!
4 When to the cross I turn mine eyes,

And rest on Calvary,
O Lamb of God, my Sacrifice,

I must remember thee!
6 Remember thee and all thy pains, I

And all thy love to me;
Yen, while a breath, a pulse remains,

Will I remember thee.
6 And when there failing lips grow dumb
And mind and mem'ry flee,,
When thon shalt

in thy kingdom come,
Jesus, remember me.

The opened Fountain.
CALL'D from above, I rise,

And wash away my sins
The streain to which my spirit flies,

Can make the foulest clean.

A fountain deep and wide :

Those pangs he would not flee, What love his latest words display'd !

Meet and remember me. 4 Remember thee! thy death, thy shame,

The griefs which thou didst bear! O mem'ry, leave no other name

So deeply graven there. 271

Figure and means of saving grace.
The sacred, true, effectual sign,

Thy body and thy blood it shows;
The glorious instrument divine,
