2 Other refuge have I none;

Hangs my helpless soul on thee:
Leave, o leave me not alone;
Still support and comfort me:
All my trust on thee is stay'd;

All iny help from thee I bring;
Cover my defenceless head

With the shadow of thy wing. 8 Thou, o Christ, art all I want:

More than ali in thee I find : Raise the fallen, cheer the faint,

Heal the sick, and lend the blind. Just and holy is thy name;

I am all unrighteousness; False, and full of sin I am;

Thou art full of truth and grace. 4 Plenteous grace with thee is found,

Grace to cover all my sin :
Let the healing streams abound;

Make and keep ine pure within.
Thou of life the fountain art;

Freely let me take of thee: Spring thou up within my heart; Rise to all eternity,

L. M. Seeking deliverance and rest. A

My heavy guilt I feel, and weep: Beneath a weight of woes oppressid, I come to thee, my Lord, for rest. ? Now, from thy throne of grace above, Look down upon my soul in love :--. That smile shall sweeten all my pain, And make my soul rejoice again.

3 By thy divine, transforming power,
My ruin'd nature now restore;
And let my life and temper shine,
In blest resemblance, Lord, to thine.

1st P. M. 6 lines 86.
The mourner blessed.
JESUS, if still the same thou art,
J If all thy promises are sure,
Set up thy kingdom in my heart,

And make me rich, for I am poor:
To me be all thy treasures given,
The kingdom of an inward heaven.
2 Thou hast pronounced the mourner blest,

And lo! for thee I ever mourn;
I cannot, no, I will not rest,

Till thou, my only rest, return;
Till thou, the Prince of peace, appear,
And I receive the Comforter.
3 Where is the blessedness bestow'd

On all that hunger after thee!
I hunger now, I thirst for God;

See the poor fainting sinner, see; And satisfy with endless peace, And fill me with thy righteousness.

Pleading the promises.
MERCY alone can meet my case ;
Jesus, Redeemer, show thy face

In mercy, or 1 die :-
2 I perish, and my doom were just;

But wilt thou leave me No:
I hold thee fast, my hope, my trust;

I will not let thee go.

3 Still sure to me thy promise stands,

And ever must abide :
Behold it written on thy hands,

And gråven in thy side.
4 To this, this only will I cleave;
Thy word is all my plen;
That word is truth, and I believe :-

Have mercy, Lord, on me.

Prisoner of hope.
I ET the redeem'd give thanks and praiso
My feeble voice I cannot raise,

Till wash'd in Jesus! blood
2 Till, at thy coming from abovë,

My mountain sin depart,
And fear give place to filial love,

And peace oferflow my heart.
3 Pris'ner of hope, I still attend

The appearance of my Lord,
These endless doubts and fears to end,

And speak my soul restored :-
4 Restored by reconciling grace;

With present pardon blest;
And fitted by true boliness

För my eternal rest.
6. The peace which man can ne'er conceive,

The love and joy unknown,
Now, Father, to thy servant give,

And claiin me for thine owo.
6 My God, in Jesus pacified,

My God, thyself declare;
And draw me to his open side,

And plunge the sinner there.

Deprecating the rorath to come.
THOU that wouldst not have
0

One wretched sinner die;
Who diedst thyself, my soul to save

From endless misery
Show me the way to shun

Thy dreadful wrath severe;
That when thou comest on thy throne,

I may with joy appear.
2 Thou art thyself the Way;

Thyself in me reveal;
So shall I spend my life's short day,

Obedient to thy will:
So shall I love my God,

Because he first loved me;
And praise thee in thy bright abode,

To all eternity. 394

C. M.
The Sun of righteousness.
O WIN of righteousness,

arise To my diseased, my fainting soul,

Life and salvation bring.
2 These clouds of pride and sin dispel,

By thy all-piercing beam:
Lighten mine eyes with faith; my heart

With holy hope inflame.
3 My mind, by thy all-quick’ning power,

From low desires set free;
Unite my scatter'd thoughts, and fix

My love entire on thee.
4 Father, thy long-lost son receive;

Saviour, thy purchase own;
Blest Comforter, with peace and joy

Thy new-made creature crown.

6 Eternal, undivided Lord,

Co-equal One in Three-
On thee all faith, all hope be placed;

All love be paid to thee.

6th P. M. 6 lines 19,

Help, or I perish.
Y thy birth, and by thy tears ;

By thy human griefs and fears;
By thy conflict in the hour
of the subtle tempter's power,-
Saviour, look with pitying eye;
Saviour, help me, or I die.
2 By the tenderness that wept
O'er the grave where Laz'rus slept;
By the bitter tears that flow'd
Over Salem's lost abode,
Saviour, look with pitying eye;
Saviour, help me, or I die.
8 By thy lonely hour of prayer;
By the fearful conflict there;
By thy cross and dying cries;
By thy one great sacritice,-
Saviour, look with pitying eye;
Saviour, help me, or I die.
4 By thy triumph o'cr the grave;
By thy power the lost to save;
By thy high, majestic throne;'
By the empire all thine own,
Saviour, look with pitying eye;
Saviour, help me, or I die.
