3 By faith we are come

To our permanent home;
By hope we the rapture improve :
By love we still rise,

And louk down on the skies
For the heaven of heavens is love.

4 Who on earth can conceive

How happy wa live,
In the palace of God the great King:

W list a concert of praise,

When our Jesus's grace
The whole heavenly company sing!

6 What & rapturous song,

When the glorified throng. In the spirit of harmony join

Join all the glad choirs,

Hearts, voices, and lyres,
And the burden is, -Mercy divine;

6 Hallelujah, they cry,

To the King of the sky,
To the great everlasting I AM;

To the Lamb that was slain,

And that liveth again,-Hallelujah to God and the Lamb ;

We goon shall recover our home;
The city of saints shall appear, --

The day of eternity come.
From earth we shall quickly remove,

And mount to our native abode;
The house of our Father above-

The palace of Angels and God,

2 Our mourning is all at an end,

When, raised by the life-giving Word,
We see the new city descend,

Adorn'd as a bride for her Lord :
The city so holy and clean,

No sorrow can breathe in the air:
No gloom of affliction or sin;

No shadow of evil is there.

3 By faith we already behold

That Invely Jerusalem bere :
Her walls are of jasper and gold;

As crystal her buildings are clear;
Immovably founded iv grace,

She stands as she ever bath stood,
And brightly her Builder displays,

And flames with the glory of God.

10th P. M. 8 Tines 86. Continued.-There shall be no night there. ΝΤΟ

Which never is follow'd by night,
Where Jesus's beauties display,

A pure and a pernianent light:
The Lamb is their Light and their Sun,

And, lo! by reflection they shine ;
With Jesus ineffably one,

And bright in effulgence divine.
2 The saints in his presence receive

Their great and eternal reward ;
In Jesus, in heaven, they live -

They reign in the smile of their Lord.
The flame of angelical love

Is kindled at Jesus's face;
And all the enjoyment above,

Consists in the rapturous gaze.

4th P. M. 886, 886. The pilgrim's happy lot. HoWhappy is the pilgrim's lot;

How free from every anxious thought,
From worldly hope and fear!
Confined to neither court nor cell,
His soul disdains on earth to dwell,

He only sojourns here.
% This happiness in part is mine,
Already saved from low design,

From every creature-love;
Blest with the scorn of finite good,
My soul is lighten'd of its load,

And seeks the things above.
3 There is my house and portion fair;
My treasure and my heart are there,

And my abiding home;
For me my elder brethren stay,
Apd angels beckon me away,

And Jesus bids me come.
4 I come, thy servant, Lord, replies;
I come to meet thee in the skies,

And claim my heavenly rest! Soon will the pilgrim's journey end ; Theu, O my Saviour, Brother, "Friend,

Receive me to thy breast!

C.M. The goodly city in prospect. JERUSALEM! my happy home! When shall my labours have an end,

In joy, and peace in thee! 20 when, thou city of my God,

Shall I thy courts ascend,
Whero congregations ne'er break up,

And Sabbath has no end !

3 Why should I shrink at pain and wo!

Or feel, at death, dismay!
I've Canaan's goodly land in view,

And realms of endless day.
4 Apostles, martyrs, prophets there,

Around my Saviour stand;
And soon my friends in Christ below

Will join the glorious band.
6 Jerusalem! my happy home!

My soul still pants for thee;
Then shall my labours have an end,

When I thy joys shall see.

S. M.
At home in heaven.
FOREVER with the Lord !
Life from the dead is in that word,

'Tis immortality.
2 Here in the body pent,

Absent from Him I roam ;
Yet nightly pitch my moving tent

A day's march neurer home.
8 Forever with the Lord !

Father, if 'tis thy will,
The promise of that faithful word,

E'en here to nie fulfil.

4 So when my latest breath

Shall rend the veil in twain,
By death I shall escape from death,

And life eternal gain.
6 Knowing as I am known,

How shall I love that word,
And oft repeat before the throne,

Forever with the Lord !
