With trembling we alore:
Its wonders can explore.

Thee to perfection who can know! O height immense! what words suffice,

Essential life's unbounded sea,

Confess the Infinite Unknown.
Bade the waves roar, the planets shine : But nothing like thyself appears
Through all these spacious works of thine.
3 Still restless nature dies and grows;
And all thy vast desigtis are one.
Thy ministers are living flame.
And see but shadows of thy face.
None but ihy word can speak thy name.
Or to perfection know !
Above the creature's sight,
The glorious Infinite.
Description far below;
How deep his mercies flow.
And dazzles all above;
