THE floods, O Lord, lift up their voice, 2. But mightier than the mighty sea, The Lord of glory reigns on high; 3. Thy word is true, thy promise sure, That ancient promise, sealed in love; Here be thy temple ever pure, As thy pure mansions shine above. 1. WHо shall the Lord's elect condemn { "Tis God that justifies their souls, And mercy, like a mighty stream, O'er all their sins divinely rolls. 2. Who shall adjudge the saints to hell? "Tis Christ that suffered in their stead; And, the salvation to fulfill, Behold him rising from the dead! 3. THE heavens declare thy glory, Lord, 2. The rolling sun, the changing light, And nights and days thy power confess; But the blest volume thou hast writ, Reveals thy justice and thy grace. 3. Sun, moon, and stars, convey thy praise Round the whole earth, and never stand: So, when thy truth began its race, It touched and glanced on every land. 4. Nor shall thy spreading gospel rest, Till through the world thy truth has run; 5. Great Sun of righteousness, arise; Bless the dark world with heavenly light; Thy gospel makes the simple wise, Thy laws are pure, thy judgments right. 6. Thy noblest wonders here we view, In souls renewed, and sins forgiven; Lord, cleanse my sins, my soul renew, And make thy word my guide to heaven. 1. HIGH in the heavens, eternal God, 2. Forever firm thy justice stands, 3. 4. 5. As mountains their foundations keep; But saints are thy peculiar care. My God! how excellent thy grace, Fly to the shadow of thy wings. From the provisions of thy house And brings salvation to our taste. 6. Life, like a fountain rich and free, Springs from the presence of my Lord; [Hy. 271. 2. Clamor, and wrath, and war begone; 1. YE sons of Adam, vain and young, And cheer your hearts with songs and wine; 3. God from on high beholds your thoughts, 1. My gracious Lord, I own thy right And serve the cause of such a friend. 3. I would not breathe for worldly joy, Or to increase my worldly good, Nor future days or powers employ To spread a sounding name abroad. 4. Tis to my Saviour I would live; To him who for my ransom died; Nor could the bowers of Eden give Such bliss as blossoms at his side. 5. His work my hoary age shall bless, When youthful vigor is no more; And my last hour of life confess His dying love's constraining power. 196. For the Lord's Supper. [Hy. 550. 1. Ar thy command, O Lord, our hope, We come around thy table here; We break the bread, we bless the cup That show thy death till thou appear. 2. Our faith adores thy bleeding love, And trusts for life in one that died; We hope for heavenly crowns above, From a Redeemer crucified. 3. Let the vain world pronounce it shame, And cast their scandals on thy cause! We come to boast our Saviour's name, And make our triumph in his cross. 4. With joy we tell the scoffing age,"He that was dead hath left his tomb; He lives above their utmost rage, And we are waiting till he come." 197. Prayer for the Children of the [Hy. 635. Church. Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures here below; 3 Praise him 9 above, ye heavenly host; Praise Fa-ther, Son, and Holy Ghost. 1. How long, O Lord, shall I complain, 2. A broken heart, my God, my King, The God of grace will ne'er despise 6. My soul lies humbled in the dust, 7. Then will I teach the world thy ways; Sinners shall learn thy sovereign grace; I'll lead them to my Saviour's blood, And they shall praise a pardoning God. 8. O, may thy love inspire my tongue! Salvation shall be all my song; And all my powers shall join to bless The Lord, my strength and righteousness. 200. The accepted Time. [Ps. 88. iii. 1. WHILE life prolongs its precious light, Mercy is found, and peace is given; But soon, ah soon! approaching night Shall blot out every hope of heaven. 2. While God invites, how blest the day! How sweet the gospel's charming sound! Come, sinners, haste, O haste away, While yet a pardoning God he's found. 3. Soon, borne on time's most rapid wing, Shall death command you to the grave; Before his bar your spirits bring, And none be found to hear, or save. 4. In that lone land of deep despair, No Sabbath's heavenly light shall rise; 5. No wonders to the dead are shown- No voice his glorious truth makes known, 6. Silence, and solitude, and gloom, In those forgetful realms appear; And hope shall never enter there. 201. Man frail—God's Love eterna?. [PS. 103. v. 1.
