Hence do our mournful Thoughts arife?
And where's our Courage fled?

Has restless Sin and raging Hell
Struck all our Comforts dead?

2 Have we forgot th' Almighty Name
That form'd the Earth and Sea?
And can an All-creating Arm
Grow weary or decay.

3 Treasures of everlafting Might
In our JEHOVлu dwell;

And treads their Foes to Hell.

Mere mortal Pow'r fhall fade and die,
And youthful Vigour ceafe;

But we that wait upon the LORD,
Shall feel our Strength increase.

5 The Saints fhall mount on Eagles Wings,
And tafte the promis'd Blifs,
Till their unwearied Feet arrive
Where perfect Pleasure is,

NOW

OW fhall my inward Joys arife,
And burst into a Song;

Almighty Love infpires my Heart,
And Pleasure tunes my Tongue.

2 GoD on his thirfty Sion-Hill

Some Mercy-Drops has thrown,
And folemn Oaths have bound his Love
To fhow'r Salvation down.

3 Why do we then indulge our Fears,
Sufpicions and Complaints?

Is he a GoD, and shall his Grace
Grow weary of his Saints?

4 Can a kind Woman e'er forget
The Infant of her Womb,

7HAT happy Men or Angels thefe That all their Robes are fpotlefs

"Whence did this glorious Troop arrive "At the pure Realms of heav'nly Light ?" 2 From tort'ring Racks, and burning Fires, And Seas of their own Blood, they came : But nobler Blood has wafh'd their Robes, Flowing from CHRIST the dying Lamb. 3 Now they approach th' Almighty Throne, With loud Hofannas Night and Day, Sweet Anthems to the Great Three One,, Measure their blefs'd Eternity.

4 No more fhall Hunger pain their Souls;
He bids their parching Thirst be gone;
And spreads the Shadow of his Wings,
To fcreen 'em from the fcorching Sun.
5 The Lamb, that fills the middle Throne,
Shall fhed around his milder Beams;
There fhall they feaft on his rich Love,
And drink full Joys from living Streams.
6 Thus fhall their mighty Blifs renew
Thro' the vaft round of endless Years,
And the foft Hand of fov'reign Grace
Heals all their Wounds, and wipes their Tears.

1 "Hefe glorious Minds, how bright they

From tort'ring Pains to endless Joys
On fiery Wheels they rode,

And ftrangely wafh'd their Raiment white
In Jesu's dying Blood.

3 Now they approach a fpotlefs Gon,
And bow before his Throne;
Their warbling Harps and facred Songs
Adore the holy One.

4 The unveil'd Glories of his Face
Amongft his Saints refide,

While the rich Treafure of his Grace
Sees all their Wants fupply'd.

5 Tormenting Thirst shall leave their Souls,
And Hunger flee as faft;

The Fruit of Life's immortal Tree
Shall be their sweet Repaft.

6 The Lamb fhall lead his heav'nly Flock.
Where living Fountains rife,

And Love divine fhall wipe away
The Sorrows of their Eyes.

DORE and tremble, for our Gov

Is a Confuming Fire;

His jealous Eyes his Wrath inflame,
And raise his Vengeance higher.
2 Almighty Vengeance, how it burns!
How bright his Fury glows!

Vaft Magazines of Plagues and Storms,
Lie treafur'd. for his Foes.

3 Thofe Heaps of Wrath by flow Degrees Are forc'd into a Flame,

But kindled, O, how fierce they blaze! And rend all Nature's Frame.

4 At his Approach the Mountains flee, And feek a wat'ry Grave;

The frighted Sea makes hate away,
And fhrinks up ev'ry Wave,

Thro' the wild Air the weighty Rocks,

Are fwift as Hail-ftones hurl'd: Who dares engage his fiery Rage,

That Thakes the folid World? 6 Yet mighty GoD! thy,fov'reign Grace' Sits Regent on the Throne, The Refuge of thy chofen Race When Wrath comes rufhing down. 7 Thy Hand fhall on rebellious Kings Á fiery Tempest pour,
