Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at his feet:
His nature is all holiness,
And mercy is his seat.

PSALM C.-Version 1. (L. M.)
ALL people that on earth do dwell,
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;
Him serve with fear, his praise forth tell,
Come ye before him and rejoice.
The Lord ye know is God indeed,
Without our aid he did us make;
We are his flock, he doth us feed,
And for his sheep he doth us take.
O enter then his gates with praise,
Approach with joy his courts unto;
Praise, laud, and bless his name always,
For it is seemly so to do.

mercy

For why? the Lord our God is good,
His
is for ever sure;
His truth at all times firmly stood,
And shall from age to age endure.

PSALM C.-Version 2. (L. M.)
WITH One consent let all the earth
To God their cheerful voices raise;
Glad homage pay, with awful mirth,
And sing before him songs of praise.
Convinc'd that he is God alone,

From whom both we and all proceed; We, whom he chooses for his own,

The flock that he vouchsafes to feed.

O enter then his temple-gate,

Thence to his courts devoutly press,
And still your grateful hymns repeat,
And still his name with praises bless.
For he's the Lord, supremely good,
His mercy is for ever sure:

His truth, which always firmly stood,
To endless ages shall endure.

PSALM CI.-(c. м.)

MERCY and judgment I will sing;
I sing, O Lord, to thee;
Oh! when wilt thou descend and bring
Thy light and life to me?

A perfect way, by wisdom trod,
A perfect heart at home:
A way, a heart, a house, O God,
I seek, where thou wilt come.
I'll seek the faithful and the just,
And will their help enjoy:
These are the friends that I will trust,

The servants I'll employ.

From lies, from slander, and deceit,
My dwelling shall be free;

Oh may it be a dwelling meet,

Most righteous Lord, for thee.

PSALM CII.-(c. M.)

THROUGH endless years thou art the same,
O thou eternal God!

Ages to come shall know thy name,
And spread thy fame abroad.

The strong foundations of the earth
Of old by thee were laid;

By thee the beauteous arch of heav'n
With matchless skill was made.
But soon this universal frame,
Form'd by thy powerful hand,
Shall, like a vesture laid aside,
Be chang'd at thy command.
Yes, earth and sky shall pass away;
While thy all-glorious name
Shall still survive, without decay,
Eternally the same.

PSALM CIII.-Version 1. (L. M.)

My soul, inspir'd with sacred love,
God's holy name for ever bless;
Of all his favours mindful prove,
And still thy grateful thanks express.
"Tis he that all thy sins forgives,

And after sickness makes thee sound: From danger he thy life retrieves,

That life with grace and mercy crown'd. The Lord abounds with tender love, And unexampled acts of grace: His waken'd wrath doth slowly move, His willing mercy flows apace. God will not always harshly chide, But with his anger quickly part; And loves his punishments to guide More by his love than our desert.

PSALM CIII.—Version 2. (D. S. M.)
O PRAISE the Lord, my soul!
His grace to thee proclaim,
And all that is within me join
To praise his holy name.
O praise the Lord, my soul!
His mercies bear in mind;
Forget not all his benefits:
The Lord to thee is kind.
He will not always chide;
He will with patience wait:
His wrath is ever slow to rise,
And ready to abate.
He pardons all thy sins;
Prolongs thy feeble breath;
He healeth thine infirmities,
And ransoms thee from death.
He clothes thee with his love;
Upholds thee with his truth;
And like the eagles he renews
The vigour of thy youth.
Then bless his holy name,

Whose grace hath made thee whole;
Whose loving-kindness crowns thy days:
O bless the Lord, my soul!

PSALM CIV.-(P. M.)

[name; My soul, praise the Lord, speak good of his O Lord our great God, how dost thou appear! So passing in glory, that great is thy fame, Honour and majesty in thee shine most clear.

With light, as a robe, thou hast thyself clad, Whereby all the earth thy greatness may see; The heavens in such sort thou also hast spread, That they to a curtain compared may be. His chamber beams lie in the clouds full sure,

Which as his chariots are made him to bear; And there with much swiftness his course doth endure,

Upon the wings riding of winds in the air. He maketh his spirits as heralds to go,

And lightnings to serve, we see also prest; His will to accomplish, they run to and fro, To save or consume things as seemeth him best

PSALM CV.

O RENDER thanks, and bless the Lord:
Invoke his sacred name;
Acquaint the nations with his deeds,
His matchless deeds proclaim.
Sing to his praise in lofty hymns;
His wondrous works rehearse;
Make them the theme of your discourse,
And subject of your verse.

Rejoice in his Almighty name,

Alone to be ador'd;

And let their hearts o'erflow with joy
Who humbly seek the Lord.

Seek ye the Lord; his saving strength
Devoutly still implore ;

And, where he's ever present, seek
His face for evermore.
