Jehovah-shalom: (The Lord Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days. Behold, a greater than Solomon is here.-Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. My people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; when it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place. He is our peace.-This man shall be the peace when the Assyrian shall come into our land. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. JUDGES 6. 24. 1 Ch. 22. 9. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.-The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. Of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray for ye know not when the time is.-Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching.-Looking for that blessed hope, ... the glorious appearing of the great God, and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings ?-We had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead; who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us.-The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.-Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men. Be instant in season, out of season.Others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.— Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. AMOS 4. 11. The very God of peace sanctify you wholly and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.-He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Are ye so foolish ? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh ?-The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me.
