Here regain our paradise,
Here prepare to meet our Lord:
Here enjoy the earnest given,
Travel hand in hand to heaven!

Hymn 150. L. M.

He hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Eph. i. 6.

JESUS, with kindest pity see

The souls that would be one in thee!
If now, accepted in thy sight,

Thou dost our upright hearts unite.
2 Allow us e'en on earth to prove
The noblest joys of heavenly love!
Thee, its great Author, let it show,
Aud back to the pure fountain flow.
3 A spark of that celestial fire,
Still let it to its source aspire:
While all our souls fly up to thee,
And blaze through all eternity.

Hymn 151. C. M.

Let brotherly love continue. Heb. xiii. 1.

1LO! what an entertaining sight

Those friendly brethren prove,

Whose cheerful hearts in bands unite,
Of harmony and love!

2 Where streams of bliss, from Christ the Descend on every soul:

[spring,

And heavenly peace with balmy wing
Shades and revives the whole:

3 'Tis pleasant as the morning dews,
That fall on Zion's bill,

Where God his mildest glory shews,
And makes his grace distil.

Hymn 152. P. M.

For we being many are one bread, and one body; for we are all partakers of that one bread. 1 Cor. x. 17.

FATHER, at thy footstool see

Those who now are one in thee!
Draw us by thy grace alone:
Give, give us to thy Son.
Jesus, Friend of human-kind,
Let us in thy name be join'd:
Each to each unite and bless,
Keep us still in perfect peace.
2 Heavenly, all-alluring dove,
Shed thy overshadowing love;
Love, the sealing grace impart:
Dwell within our single heart:
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
Be to us what Adam lost;
Let us in thine image rise;
Give us back our paradise!
Hymn 153. S. M.

Rom. xii. 18.

OLEST are the sons of peace,

Whose hearts and hopes are one! Whose kind designs to serve and please, Through all their actions ran.

2 Blest is the pious house

Where zeal and friendship meet,
Their songs of praise, their mingled vows,
Make their communion sweet.

3 Thus on the heav'nly hills,

1

The saints are blest above,
Where joy, like morning dew, distils,
And all the air is love.

Hymn 154. C. M.

For he is our peace. Eph. ii. 14.
IVER of concord, Prince of peace,
Meek, lamb-like Son of God,

Bid our unruly passions cease,
By thy atoning blood.

2 Rebuke our rage, our passions chide,
Our stubborn wills control,

Beat down our wrath, root out our pride,
And calm our troubled soul.

3 Subdue in us the carnal mind,
Its enmity destroy,

With cords of love our spirits bind,
And melt us into joy.

4 Us into closest union draw,
And in our inward parts

Let kindness sweetly write her law,
And love command our hearts.

5 Saviour, look down with pitying eyes,
Our jarring wills control,

Let cordial, kind affections rise,
And harmonize the soul.

60 let us find the ancient way,

1

Our wond'ring foes to move,
And force the heathen world to say,
"See how these Christians love!"

Hymn 155. P. M.

For the perfecting of the saints. Eph. iv. 12.

CHR

HRIST, from whom all blessings flow,
V. Perfecting the saints below,

Hear us, who thy nature share,
Who thy mystic body are,
Join us, in one Spirit join,
Let us still receive of thine:
Still for more on thee we call,
Thou who fillest all in all!
2 Move, and actuate, and guide:
Divers gifts to each divide:
Plac'd according to thy will,
Let us all our work fulfil,
Never from our office move;
Needful to each other prove;
Let us daily growth receive,
More and more in Jesus live.
3 Sweetly may we all agree,
Touch'd with softest sympathy;
Kindly for each other care;
Every member feel its share.
Many are we now and one,
We who Jesus have put on;
Names, and sects, and parties fall:
Thou, O Christ, art all in all.

But I have called you friends. John xv. 15.

UR friendship sanctify and guide,
Unmist with selfishness and pride;

In all our intercourse below,

Still let us in thy footsteps go.

2 Fix on thyself our single eye!
Still let us on thyself rely,
The help as from thy hand receive,
And still to thee all glory give.
3 Whate'er thou dost on one bestow,
Let each the double blessing know,
In comforts and in griefs agree,
And wrestle for his friends with thee:
4 Our mutual prayers accept and seal!
In all, thy glorious self reveal;
Thy kingdom in our souls restore;
And keep till we shall sin no more.

Hymn 157. P. M.

Hope maketh not ashamed. Rom. v. 5.
ARTNERS of a glorious hope,

Jointly let us rise and sing,

Christ, our Prophet, Priest, and King;
While we walk with him in light,

God doth still our hearts unite;
Dearest fellowship we prove,
Fellowship in Jesu's love.
