1 Hymn 164. L. M. If any bowels and mercies. Phil. ii. 1. Now His sharp distress, his sore complaints, By his last groan, his dying blood, I charge my soul to love the saints. 2 Clamour, and wrath, and strife be gone, Envy and spite for ever cease; Let bitter words no more be known Amongst the saints, the sons of peace. 3 The Spirit, like a peaceful dove, Flies from the realms of noise and strife; Why should we vex and grieve his love, Who seals our souls to heavenly life? 4 Tender and kind be all our thoughts, Throughout our lives let mercy run: Would God forgive our num'rous faults, Only through faith in Christ alone. Hymn 165. S. M. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Rom. xii. 15. OLEST be the tie that binds B Our hearts in Christian love; The fellowship of kindred minds, Is like to that above. 2 Before our Father's throne, We pour our ardent prayers: 3 We share our mutual woes; 4 When we asunder part, It gives us inward pain, 5 This glorious hope revives Our courage by the way; While each in expectation lives, And longs to see the day. 6 From sorrow, toil, and pain, And perfect love and friendship reign CHRIST OUR PASSOVER, OR THE LORD'S SUPPER. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us. 1 Cor. v. 7. For as oft as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come. 1 Cor. xi. 26. Hymn 166. L. M. But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Heb. vii. 24. M. Having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience. Heb. x. 22. COM YOME, thou everlasting Spirit, 2 Come, thou Witness of his dying, Hymn 168. P. M. My peace I give unto you. John xiv. 27. LAMB of God, whose dying love, We now recall to mind, Send the answer from above, And let us mercy find; And bid us go in peace. 2 By thine agonizing pain, And bloody sweat, we pray, Take all our sins away: And bid us go in peace. 3 Let thy blood by faith applied, The sinner's pardon seal, Speak us freely justified, And all our sickness heal: Let all our griefs and troubles cease: And bid us go in peace. 4 Never will we hence depart, 1 Still our souls shall cry to thee, Hymn 169. C. M. I am the living bread. John vi. 51. As channels to convey thy love To every faithful heart. 2 The living bread sent down from heaven, Thy flesh for all the world is given, 3 Now, Lord, on us thy flesh bestow, 4 Determin'd nothing else to know I will not from my Jesus go, Hymn 170. P. M. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
