2 O what debtors to thy kindness

Are we, God of boundless love;
Thousands wander on in blindness,

Strangers to tha light above. 3 But 'tis ours to read the pages,

Where the rays of glory glow; And, through everlasting ages,

We aspire its bliss to know. 4 Jesus, on thine arm relying,

We would tread this earthly vale ; Be our life, when we are dyingBe our strength, when strength shall fail 44.

L. M. PRAYER was appointed to convey The blessings God designs to give: Long as they live should Christians pray,

For only whilo they pray, they live.
2 Depend on Christ, thou canst not fail;

Make all thy wants and wishes known;
Fear not, his merits must prevail:
Ask what thou wilt, it shall be done.

C. M.
LORD, 1 confess before thy face,

How wicked I have been: Look down from heav'n, thy dwelling placo,

And pardon this iny sin.

2 Forgive my temper, Lord, I praya

My passion, and my pride; The wicked words I dar'd to say

And wicked thoughts besido.
3 For Jesus' sake forgive my crime,

And change this stubborn heart;
And grant me grace another time,
To act a better part.
46.

C. M.
LORD, we address thy heavenly throne,

Cail us, poor children, thine;
Oh! hear us when we pray to thee,

And form our hearts divine.
2 Give us an humble, active mind,

From sloth and folly free:
Give us a cheerful heart, indir''

To truth and piety,
3 A faithful memory bestow;

With useful learning store :
And still, O Lord, as inore we know,
May wo obey thee more.

ASSEMBLED in our school onco more,
O Lord, thy blessing we implore;
We meet to read, and sing, and pray,
Be with us then through this thy day.

2 Our fervent prayer to thee ascends

For paronts, teachers, fo@8, and friends;
And when we in thy house appear,

Help us to worship in thy fear. 3 When we on earth shall meet no more,'

May we above to glory soar ;
And praise thee in more lofty strains,
Where one eternal Sabbath reigns,

48.

C. M. In humble accents, Lord, we sing:

And worship near thy throne; Thou art our Saviour, chou our King,

O send thy blessing down, 2 Hast thou not said, “let children come?'

'Tis here thy pooplo meet; Ard we have learnt there still is room,

We bow beneath thy feet. 3 To thee we give this sacred hour,

In thee our souls confide ;
Bereath the shadow of thy power,
Our feet shall never slide.

49.
Come, gracious Spirit, source of love,
With light and comfort from above:
Be thou our guardian, thou our guide,

L. M.

O'er avery thought and sten arcaide

2 Conduct us safe, conduct us far

From every sin and hurtful snare ;
Lead to thy word, that rules must give
And teach us lessons how to live.

3 The light of truth to us display,

And make us know and love thy way; Plant holy fear in every heart,

That wo from God may ne'er depart. 4 Lead us to holiness, the roud

That we must take to dwell with God:
Lead es to Christ, the living way,
Nor let us from his pastures stray.

50.

S. M. CREATOR, Saviour, God,

We raise our hearts to thee; And, resting on thy faithful word, Wo bend

our suppliant knee.

2 Oh! deigr to hear our prayer,

And save the youthful race ; Convert the children of our care,

By thine almighty grace.

3 Oh! Guide their roving foet,

In paths of truth divine ;
May rays of heavenly glory sweet

Around their footsteps shine.

51.

C. M. O LORD, forgive a sinful child,

Whoso heart is all unclean : How baso am I, and ail defil'd

By the vile work of sin.
2 How justly might thine anger risc,

And sink me down to hell,
To feel the worm that never dies,

In endless flames to dwell. 3 0 change this stubborn heart of mine,

And make nie pure within ;
Still manifest thy love divine,

And save me from my sin.
4 Then shall I make redeeming love

My daily, hourly song;
And joys, like theirs who sing above,

Shalf tune an infant's tongue.

C. M.
LORD, teach a little child to pray;

Thy grace betimes impart;
And grant thy Holy Spirit may

Renew niy sinful heart.
2 A fallen creature I was born,

And from the birth I stray'd:
I must be wretched, and forlorn,

Without thy mercy's aid.
