have strayed from thy fold. R. And give thy Son the heathen for his inheritance.

Let us pray. ALMIGHTY and everfasting God, who art the Lord of the living and the dead, and hast mercy upon all, whom Thou foreknowest will be thine in thy Son by faith and good works; we humbly beseech Thee, that all those, for whom we desire to pour out our prayers unto thee, may obtain thro' thy mercy pardon for all their sins, relief under all their

soul, the knowledge of thy truth in this life, and everlasting salvation in the life to come: Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ¶Then may be said a Prayer at the discretion of the Master. ¶ After which may be said the final Benediction, or as follows to the end.

Lord have mercy upon us.
Christ have mercy upon us.
Lord have mercy upon us.
UR Father, which art

V. Let the sweet-savour of our offering come up before Thee, O God, with the prayers of thy Saints.

R. And give us an inheritance among all them, that are sanctified.

Let us pray.

GOD, before whom the supplications and intercessions of the Saints continually ascend, and who makest thy people to rejoice in their communion, grant to their prayers and ours, that we may so perfectly hold the Head, thy Son Jesus Christ, from whom all the body hath nourishment ministered, that being knit together with them in love, our hearts may be comforted in their holy fellowship; and as Thou didst

thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into

grace, so sanctify and cleanse us wholly for Thyself, that we may be numbered with them in glory everlasting. Set up thy Kingdom in our hearts; let thy blessed Will be our choice and satisfaction, thy Promises our hope,

¶ Should this Order of Evening Family Prayer be too long for the use of any particular family, the Master can appoint, that the Psalm, Lesson, or Hymn, or all of them, should be omitted; and he can say the Office as it stands without them, or, saying the Prayers only, proceed at once from the end of the first Lord's Prayer to the Invocations to the Most Holy Trinity, as they are appointed for Festivals, Fast-days, or Week-days: Or, to shorten it still further, he can omit all the latter part of the Office from the second Lord's Prayer, saying the final Benediction immediately after his own Intercessory or occasional Prayer, as is provided for in the rubric.
