FAMILY PRAYERS.

For the Morning of Week Days.

Let all devoutly kneeling make Confession, the Reader saying, and the rest answering, as follows:

O Almighty God, most merciful Father, we have sinned against Heaven and before Thee;

And are no more worthy to be called thy children. We acknowledge our transgressions;

Our sins testify against us. Thou hast set our misdeeds before Thee;

And our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. Lord, we are not worthy

that Thou shouldest enter under our roof;

But speak the word only, and thy servants shall be healed.

Then shall the Reader say. We beseech Thee, O Lord, by the merits of the Eternal Son, whose Name we bear, that Thou wouldest vouchsafe to grant unto us the grace of true repentance, and mercifully to forgive us all our sins. Amen.

Let us pray.

ALMIGHTY Father, Lord of heaven and earth, whose mercies are new every morning, and Who hast raised us up to praise thy goodness, and to pray to Thee; make us, we beseech Thee, to walk as children of light, that we may have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness and grant us all things that be needful both for our

V. Vouchsafe, O Lord,

let the bright beams of thy Gospel shine with greater power upon our souls, and drive away from our hearts

all the darkness of sin; that we may persevere in thy holy service till our death. Amen. YOME, O Holy Spirit, fill

the hearts of thy faithful people, and kindle in them the fire of thy love; make us always truly wise, and evermore to rejoice in thy consolation. Amen.

GOD, under whose defence and providence thy people dwell in safety, accept, we beseech Thee, our morning sacrifice of praise and supplication, and look graciously upon this thy family, that we may abide in peace and gladness under the shadow of thy wings. Give thy holy Angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways. Set a watch before our mouth and keep the door of our lips. Turn away our eyes, that they behold not vanity; and open our ears only to the words of truth and love. Let not our hearts be inclined to any evil thing; and order our steps in thy word; that walking honestly as in the day in the path of thy commandments, we may live to the honour and glory of thy holy Name, and finally by thy mercy obtain everlasting life; Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who with Thee,

FAMILY PRAYERS.

For the Evening of Sundays and Festivals.

¶ Let all devoutly kneeling make Confession together, saying, ALMIGHTY God, most merciful Father; we have sinned against Thee exceedingly in thought, word, and deed: we have rebelled against thy sovereign Will; neglected thy holy Counsels; and broken thy righteous Laws. We have sinned, O Lord, we have sinned exceedingly; and are no more worthy to be called thy children. Yet cast us not away from thy Presence: But for the sake of thy dear Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, give us penitent and contrite hearts; and grant us pardon and peace. Amen. ¶ Then shall the Reader say alone,

A LMIGHTY God, have mercy upon us, absolve us from our sins, and bring us to life everlasting, thro' Jesus Christ, our Lord. A

men.

¶ Then shall the Reader say, and the rest answer, as follows,

THOU, who hast made us in thine own Image; Who hast redeemed us by thine only Son; Who hast

called us by thy Holy Spirit; Who hast given thine Angels charge over us, and encompassed us with all blessings;

Almighty Father, have mercy upon us, and bless us.

O Thou, Who to save sinners tookest upon Thee the frail nature of man; and didst suffer being tempted like as we are, yet without sin; Who for our redemption becamest obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross; and by rising again didst become the first fruits of them that slept; in whom shall all be made alive;

Eternal Son, have mercy upon us, and bless us.

O Thou, Who didst speak by the Prophets, and wast sent down upon the Apostles: Thou, Who convertest from all error, Who dost regenerate our hearts, and enlighten our minds; Who givest strength to thy people; Who sanctifiest thine elect, and guidest thy Church into all truth;

Holy Spirit, have mercy upon us, and bless us.
