Shout, for the great Redeemer reigns ! Once more, O Lord, let grateful praise Thro' distant lands his triumph spread; In songs of joy to thee ascend;
Forever firm his grace remains, Thou art the Guardian of our days,
And light and truth around are shed. Our first and best and changeless Friend.
O may his conqucsts still increase, Since every day and every hour,
Till every knee in meekness bends, With mercy has been richly crowned,
And every heart enjoys the peace Thy love and wisdom, grace and power,
Which all the joys of earth transcends. Will evermore to us abound.
Loud hallelujahs to the Lamb, Hear, then, our parting hymn of praise,
From all below and all above; And bind our hearts in love divine;
In songs of triumph laud his name, O may we walk in wisdom's ways,
In strains as lasting as his love. And ever feel that we are thine.
HYMN 108. HYMN 111.
Eternal God! we bless thy name, Within thy house, O Lord our God,
And loud thy gracious 'ove proclaim; In all thy glorious love appear;
The tokens of thy friendly care, Make this a place of thine abode,
Begin, and crown, and close the year. And shed thy holy blessings here.
Supported by thy guardian hand, When we thy mercy-seat surround,
Amidst unnumbered deaths we stand, Thy spirit, Lord, to us impart,
And see, amid thy various ways, And may thy gospel's joyful sound,
Unnumbered monuments of praise. With might divine reach every heart.
Thus far thy hand has led us on— Here may the blind their sight obtain;
Thus far we make thy mercies known, Here give the contrite peaceful rest;
And blessings yet for us in store, May Shiloh here triumphant reign,
Will claim our thanks for evermore. And be by every soul confessed.
Lord, may the love conferred by thee, Here may the voice of humble joy,
A quick’ning power of virtue be, In faith and hope and love arise,
That so the light of life may shine, Till higher strains our hearts employ
A token of thy grace divine. In thine own kingdom in the skies.
HYMN 109. HYMN 112.
Jesus shall reign where'er the sun O bless our God, ye nations round;
Does his successive journeys run; Ye sons of men, adore his name;
His realm extend from shore to shore, Let shouts of joy through earth resound,
Till time and all its scenes are o’er. And every tongue his love proclaim.
For this shall constant prayer be made; Redemption claims the song of joy!
For this his truth shall be displayed; Loud thro’ the land let triumph ring !
And songs of joy and praise be heard, Let praise be our divine employ,
For blessings by his grace conferred. And pure the sacrifice we bring.
Blessings abound where'er he reigns: Shout to the Lord! adoring own The prisoner leaps to loose his chains: The works his holy arm displays; The weary find a peaceful rest, His mighty hand has plainly shown And every longing soul is blest. The grace and truth of all his ways.
Where he displays his healing power, Low at the cross the world shall bow, Death and its sting are known no more; All nations shall its blessings prove,
And darkest shadows flee away And every kindred yet shall know
Before his truth's celestial ray. The mercies of redeeming love.
O may our lives in virtue show Q bless our God, ye nations round;
The reign of Shiloh here below, Ye sons of men, adore his name;
That we may feel the glowing love Let shouts of joy through earth resound,
Of hosts redeemed, in worlds above. And every tongue his love proclaim.
