1 TESUS CHRIST is risen to day, Hallelujah !

J Our triumphant holiday! Hallelujah! Who did once upon the Cross, Hallelujah! Suffer to redeem our loss.

Hallelujah! 2 Hymns of praise then let us sing Hallelujah !

Unto Christ our heavenly King, Hallelujah ! Who endured the Cross and grave, Hallelujah !

Sinners to redeem and save. Hallelujah ! 3 But the pains which He endured Hallelujah !

Our salvation have secured ; Hallelujah!
Now He reigns above the sky, Hallelujah !
Where the angels ever cry, Hallelujah !

7s. 1 “CHRIST the Lord is risen to-day,"

U Sons of men, and angels, say ;
Raise your joys and triumphs high;

Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply !
2 Vain the stone, the watch, the seal,

Christ hath burst the gates of hell ;
Death in vain forbids His rise,

Christ hath opened Paradise !
3 Lives again our glorious King !

Where, O death, is now thy sting ?
Once He died, our souls to save,–
Where's thy victory, O grave ?

4 Soar we now where Christ hath led,

Following our exalted Head;
Made like Him, like Him we rise,
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies !

c. M. 1 SINCE Christ, our Passover, is slain,

D A sacrifice for all,
Let all with thankful hearts agree

To keep the festival.
2 Not with the leaven, as of old,

Of sin and malice fed,
But with unfeigned sincerity,

And truth's unleavened bread.
3 Christ being raised by power divine,

And rescued from the grave,
Shall die no more ; death shall on Him

No more dominion have.
4 For that He died, 'twas for our sins,

He once vouchsafed to die;
But that He lives, He lives to God,

For all eternity.
5 So count yourselves as dead to sin,

But graciously restored ;
And made henceforth alive to God,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

C. M. 1 THIS day be grateful homage paid,

I And loud hosannas sung :
Let gladness dwell in every heart,

And praise on every tongue.

2 ( what a night was that which wrapped

The heathen world in gloom !
O what a Sun which broke, this day,

Triumphant from the tomb !
3 The powers of darkness leagued in vain

To bind the Lord in death ;
He shook their kingdom when He fell,

With His expiring breath.
4 Ten thousand differing lips shall join

To hail this happy morn,
Which scatters blessings from its wings,

On nations yet unborn.

C. M. 1 PLEST be the everlasting God,

D The Father of our Lord !
Be His abounding mercy praised,

His majesty adored.
2 When from the dead He raised His Son,

And called Him to the sky,
He gave our souls a lively hope

That they should never die. 8 To an inheritance divine

He taught our hearts to rise : 'Tis uncorrupted, undefiled,

Unfading in the skies.
4. Saints by the power of God are kept,

Till their salvation come ;
We walk by faith as strangers here,

But Christ shall call us home.

1 TAIL the day that sees Him rise

II Glorious to His native skies !
Christ, awhile to mortals given,

Enters now the highest heaven.
2 There the glorious triumph waits :

Lift your heads, eternal gates !
Christ hath vanquished death and sin,

Take the King of Glory in.
3 Lo! the heaven its Lord receives !

Yet He loves the earth He leaves :
Though returning to His throne,
Still He calls mankind His own.

4 See, He lifts His hands above !

See, He shews the prints of love!
Hark, His gracious lips bestow
Blessings on His Church below!

5 Lord, though parted from our sight,

Far above yon azure height,
Grant our hearts may thither rise,
Seeking Thce beyond the skies.

1 T IFT up your heads, eternal gates,

1 Unfold to entertain
The King of Glory : see! He comes
With His celestial train.

2 Who is the King of Glory? Who?

The Lord, for strength renowned ;
In battle mighty, o'er His foes

Eternal victor crowned.
3 Lift up your heads, ye gates, unfold

In state to entertain
The King of Glory : see! He comes

With all His shining train.
4 Who is the King of Glory? Who?

The Lord of Hosts renowned :
Of glory He alone is King,
Who is with glory crowned.

C. M. in JESUS, who art gone before

U To Thy blest realm on high,
Now bid our spirits thither soar,

And raise them to the sky.
2 Make us to those delights aspire

Which spring from love to Thee,
Which pass the carnal heart's desire,

Which faith alone can see.
3 To guide us to Thy glories, Lord,

To lift us to the sky,
O may Thy Holy Ghost be poured
Upon us from on high!

148th u. 1 DEJOICE, the Lord is King !

1 Your Lord and King adore : Mortals, give thanks and sing,

And triumph evermore:
