(8-7.) 5-COME, O Saviour, long expected, Born thy people to deliver; Born a child, and yet a King; Now thy gracious kingdom bring. By thine own eternal Spirit, In our hearts rule thou alone; By thine all-sufficient merit, Raise us to thy glorious throne. Advent. (8-7-4.) 6-LO! He comes, with clouds descending, Once for favour'd sinners slain: Thousand thousand saints attending, Swell the triumph of his train: Hallelujah! Ev'ry eye shall now behold him Rob'd in dreadful majesty ; They who set at nought and sold him, Pierc'd and nail'd him to the tree, Amen. Deeply wailing, shall the true Messiah see. Now redemption, long expected Rise to meet him in the air: Hallelujah!-see, the Son of God appear!
