Thus while the meaner creatures fing,
Ye mortals catch the found ;

Echo the glories of your King
Through all the nations round.

VII. God glorious, and Sinners faved. C. M.

FAT

I.

ATHER, how wide thy glory fhines!
How high thy wonders rise!

Known through the earth by thousand signs,
By thousands through the skies!

II.

Those mighty orbs proclaim thy pow'r,
Their motions fpeak thy skill;
And on the wings of ev'ry hour
We read thy patience ftill,

III.

But when we view thy great defign,
To fave rebellious worms:
Where vengeance and compaffion jain
In their divineft forms:

IV.

Here the whole deity is known,
Nor dares a creature guess,

Which of the glories brightest shine,
The justice, or the grace.

V.

Now the full glories of the Lamb
Adorn the heav'nly plains;
Bright feraphs learn Immanuel's name,
And try their choiceft ftrains.

VI.

O may I bear fome humble part
In that immortal fong!

Wonder and joy fhall tune my heart,
And love command my tongue.

IX. Jefus adored. L. M.

WORTH

1.

WORTHY the Lamb of boundless fway,
In earth and heav'n the Lord of all;

Ye princes, rulers, pow'rs obey,

And low before his footftocl fall.

II.

The deed was done, the Lamb was flain,
The groaning earth the burden bore:
He rofe! he lives! he lives to reign;
Nor time shall shake his endless pow'r.

III.

Whate'er is rich, whate'er is great,
From worlds unnumber'd hither bring,
Pour the gay ftores before his feat,
And hail the triumphs of our King.

IV.

Wisdom and strength are his alone,
He rais'd the top-ftone, fhouting grace,
Honour has rais'd his lofty throne,
And glory's feated on his face.

v.

From heav'n, from earth, loud bursting praise The mighty bleffings fhall proclaim; Bleffings that men to glory raife,

To fhout the triumphs of the Lamb.

VI.

Higher, ftill higher, fwell the ftrain,
Creation's voice the note prolong;
The Lamb shall ever, ever reign!
Let hallelujahs crown the fong!

X. The Coronation of Chrift. P. M.

I.

HALL loyal nations hail the day
Thatcrowns their King, with loud acclaim?

And fhall not faints their homage pay

To their beloved Saviour's name? Ye faints refound in joyful strains, Jefus the King of glory reigns!

II.

Jefus who vanquish'd all your foes,
Who came to fave, who reigns to blefs;
From him your ev'ry comfort flows,
Life, liberty, and joy, and peace.
Refound, refound, in joyful strains,
Jefus the King of Glory reigns!

III.

Yes, thou art worthy, dearest Lord,
Of universal, endless praise;
With ev'ry pow'r to be ador'd,

That men or angels e'er can raise.
Let heav'n and earth unite their strains,
Jefus the King of Glory reigns!

IV.

But earth nor heav'n can e'er proclaim
The boundless glories of their King;
Yet muft our hearts adore his name,

Dear name, whence all our bleffings fpring! Refound, refound in joyful ftrains,

Jefus the King of Glory reigns!

V.

How mean the tribute mortals pay,

How cold the heart, how faint the tongue! But, Lord, thy coronation-day

Shall tune a more exalted fong, Refounding in immortal strains, Jefus the King of glory reigns!

VI.

He comes! he comes! with triumph crown'd,
In dazzling robes of light array'd,
Faith views the splendour dawning round,
Earth's faireft luftre finks in fhade.
Refound, refound in joyful ftrains,
Jefus the King of Glory reigns!
