XV. Invitation to praife. S. M.

I.

AWAKE, and fing the song

Mofes and the Lamb;

Wake ev'ry heart, and ev'ry tongue,
To praise the Saviour's name,

II.

Sing of his dying love,

Sing of his rifing pow'r : Sing how he intercedes above

For those whofe fins he bore.

III.

Sing, till we feel our hearts
Afcending with our tongues;
Sing, till the love of fin departs,
And grace infpires our fongs.

IV.

Sing on your heav'nly way,
Ye ranfom'd finners fing;
Sing on, rejoicing ev'ry day,
In Christ, th' eternal King.

V.

Spon fhall ye hear Him fay,

"Ye bleffed children come;" Soon will he call you hence away,

And take his wand'rers home,

XVI, Pfalm,100, altered from Dr.Watts. L.M•

BEF

I.

EFORE Jehovah's awful throne,
Ye nations, bow with facred joy,
Know that the Lord is God alone;
He can create, and He destroy.

II.

His fov'reign pow'r without our aid,
Made us of clay, and form'd us men ;
And when like wand'ring fheep we ftray'd,
He brought us to his fold again.

III.

We'll crowd thy gates with thankful songs, High as the heav'ns our voices raise ; And earth with her ten thousand tongues, Shall fill thy courts with founding praise.

IV.

Wide as the world is thy command,
Vaft as eternity thy love;

Firm as a rock thy truth MUST ftand;
When rolling years fhall cease to move.

XVII. Thankfgiving. 104th.

I.

What fhall I do, my Saviour to praise ;
So faithful and true, fo plenteous in grace;

So ftrong to deliver, fo good to redeem

The weakest believer, that hangs upon Him?

II.

How happy the man whofe heart is fet free;
The people that can be joyful in Thee;
Their joy is to walk in the light of thy face;
And fill they are talking of Jefus's grace.

III.

Their daily delight fhall be in thy name, They fhall as their right,thy righteousnessclaim; Thy righteoufnefs wearing, and cleans'd by thy blood,

Bold fhall they appear in the presence of God.

IV.

For thou art their boast, their glory and pow'r, And I also truft to fee the glad hour,

My foul's new creation, a life from the dead, The day of falvation that lifts up my head.

V.

Yes, Lord, I fhall fee the blifs of Thine own, Thy fecret to me fhall foon be made known; For forrow and fadness I joy fhall receive, And share in the gladness of all that believe.

XVIII. Rejoicing in God. 104th.

I.

REJOICE, evermore with angels above,

In Jefus's pow'r, in Jefus's love; With glad exultation your triumph proclaim Afcribing falvation to God and the Lamb.

II.

Thou, Lord, our relief in trouble haft been ; Haft fav'd us from grief, haft fav'd us from sin: The pow'r of thy Spirit can fet our hearts free, And we shall inherit all fulness in thee.

III.

All fulness of peace, all fulness of joy,
And spiritual bliss that never can cloy;
To us it is given in Jefus to know
A kingdom of heav'n, a heav'n below,

IV.

No more we comply while finners invite,
Nor wish to come nigh their fource of delight;
Their joy is all fadness, their mirth is all vain,
Their laughter is madness, their pleasure is
pain,

V.

O may they at laft with forrow return!
The pleasure to tafte for which they were born!
Our Jefus receiving, our happiness prove,
The joy of believing the heaven of love.

XIX. The Love of Chrift adored. 75.

NOW

I.

OW prepare your hearts to fing
Glory to our God and King;

Now a fhout of triumph raise,
Fill the heav'ns with Jesus' praife,

11.

Hallelujah to the Lamb!

Loud his wondrous love proclaim:
He for finners freely dy'd!
Was for finners crucify'd!

III.

Now may doubts and fears be o'er,
We diftruft his grace no more;
Full affurance may we prove,
Settled in the Saviour's love.

IV.

In our Jefu's arms fecure
To the end may we endure!
Join with us, ye angels join,
Praise his name in hymns divine.

V.

Earth below and heav'n above
Wonder at his boundless love;
All admire his grace and pow'r,
Blefs the Lord for evermore.
