Come, thirsty fouls, your wants disclose,
And drink with thankful hearts.

V.

Millions of finners, vile as you,

Have here found life and peace; Come, thirsty fouls, and prove it true, And drink, adore, and bless.

XXIX. Sinners invited to Jefus. P. M.

I.

COME ye finners, poor and wretched,

Weak and wounded, fick and fore;

Jefus ready ftands to fave you,
Full of pity, love, and pow'r:

He is able, &c.

He is willing, doubt no more.

II.

Ho! ye needy, come and welcome,
God's free bounty glorify;

True belief, and true repentance,
Ev'ry grace that brings you nigh:
Without money

Come to Jefus Chrift and buy.

III.

Let not confcience make you lingery
Nor of fitnefs fondly dream;

All the fitnefs he requireth
Is to feel your need of him:

This he gives you,

'Tis the Spirit's rifing beam.

IV.

Lo! th' incarnate God afcended,
Pleads the merit of his blood;
Venture on him, venture wholly,
Let no other truft intrude;

None but Jefus

Can do helpless sinners good.

V.

Saints and angels, join'd in concert,
Sing the praises of the Lamb;
While the blissful feats of heaven
Sweetly echo with his name.
Hallelujah!

Sinners here may do the fame.

XXX. Invitation to the Gofpel Feaft. C. M.

I.

E wretched, hungry, starving poor,
Behold a royal feast!

YE

Where mercy spreads her bounteous ftore
For ev'ry welcome guest.

II.

See Jefus ftands with open arms;
He calis, he bids you come;

Guilt holds you back, and fear alarms;
But fee, there
yet is room.

III.

Room in the Saviour's bleeding heart, Where love and pity meet:

Nor will he bid the foul depart

That trembles at his feet.

IV.

In him the Father reconcil'd
Invites your fouls to come;
The rebel shall be call'd a child,
And kindly welcom❜d home.

V.

O come, and with his children taste
The bleffings of his love;
While hope attends the fweet repast
Of nobler joys above.

VI.

There, with united heart and voice
Before th' eternal throne,

Ten thoufand, thousand fouls rejoice,
In extafies unknown.

VII.

And yet ten thoufand, thoufand more
Are welcome ftill to come;
Ye longing fouls the grace adore;
Approach, there yet is room!

XXXI. Seeking the affiftance of the Spirit.

Now

C. M.

I.

OW may the Spirit's holy fire,
Defcending from above,

His waiting family infpire

With joy, and peace, and love.

II.

Wake heav'nly Wind, arife and come,
Blow on the drooping field;
Our fpices then fhall breathe perfume,
And fragrant incenfe yield.

III.

Touch with a living coal, the lip
That fhall proclaim thy word,
And bid each waiting hearer keep
Attention to the Lord.

IV.

Furnish us all with light and pow'rs
To walk in wildom's ways;
So fhall the benefit be ours,
And thou shalt have the praife.

XXXII. Influence of the Spirit implored.

ETH

P. M.

I.

TERNAL Spirit, fource of light,
Enliv'ning, confecrating fire,

Defcend, and with celeftial heat
Our dull, our frozen hearts infpire;
Our fouls refine, our drofs confume!
Come, condefcending Spirit, come!

II.

In our cold breafts, O ftrike a spark
Of the pure flame which feraphs feel;
Nor let us wander in the dark,

Or lie benumb'd and ftupid flill;

Come, vivifying Spirit, come,

And make our hearts thy conftant home!

III.

Let pure dévotion's fervours rife!
Let ev'ry pious paffion glow!
