In thine own appointed way,
Now we feek Thee, here we flay;
Lord, from hence we would not go,
Till a bleffing Thou bestow;

IV.

Send fome meffage from thy word,
That may joy and peace afford;
Let thy Spirit now impart

Full falvation to each heart.

Comfort those that weep and mourn,
Let the time of joy return;
Those who are caft down, lift up,
Make them strong in faith and hope.

VI.

Grant that those who feek, may find
Thee a God divinely kind;

Heal the fick, the captive free,
Let us all rejoice in Thee.

GRACIOUS Spirit, Dove divine!

Let thy light within me fhine;

All my guilty fears remove,
Fill me full of heav'n and love.

Speak Thy pard'ning grace to me,
Set the burthen'd finner free;
Lead me to the Lamb of God,

Seal falvation on my heart:
Breathe Thyfelf into my breaft,
Earnest of immortal rest.

OME, Holy Ghoft, my foul infpire,
Atteft that I am born again:

Come, and baptize me, Lord, with fire,

Let no more doubt or cloud remain:
Give me the sense of fin forgiv❜n,
Sweet fore-tafte of approaching heav'n.

O give th' indisputable seal,

That ascertains the kingdom mine;
That pow'rful ftamp I long to feel,
The fignature of love divine:

O fhed it in my heart abroad,
Fulness of love, of heav'n, of God!

THY

I.

'HY bleffing, gracious God, afford,
And let fuccefs attend thy word;

Let humble fouls thy truth receive,
Let finners hear thy voice, and live.

II.

Save us from Satan's curfed fnares,
And from the world's distracting cares;

When we within thy courts appear,
May we digeft the truths we hear.

III.

May we the joyful tidings hear,
With holy love, and godly fear;
And credit to the Gospel give,
As that bleit word by which we live.

IV.

Thy fov'reign pow'r, O God, impart,
And write thy law upon our heart;
Wisdom divine on us beftow,
And may we practice what we know.

V.

Preacher and people then fhall raise,
United fongs of grateful praile,
'Till both at length shall mount above,
To triumph in redeeming love.

XLI. Invitation to the Weary. 75.

WEA

I.

EARY fouls, who wander wide
From the central point of blifs,

Turn to Jefus crucify'd,

Fly to those dear wounds of his;
D

Sink into the purple flood,

Rife into the life of God!

H.

Find in Chrift the way of peace,
Peace unspeakable, unknown,
By his pain he gives you ease,
Life by his expiring groan:
Rife exalted by his fall;
Find in Chrift your all in all.

III.

O believe the record true,

God to you his Son hath giv'n, Then ye will be happy too,

Live on earth the life of heav'n! Live the life of heav'n above,

All the life of glorious love.

IV.

This the univerfal blifs,

Blifs for weary fouls defign'd, God's eternal promise this,

God's great gift to loft mankind. Now to Chrift this moment flee, Bleft to all eternity!
