Ear me, Ogracious God and father, and

breathe into my heart that spirit which renews us after thine own image, in righteousness and true holiness.

Blessed Jesus, who seekest out sipners to make them good, do not reject me now, when I seek to theetomakeme better. Iam poorand naked, Oh! clotheme with thy righteousness. My good thoughts are changeable and inconftant; but Oh! do thou establish and fix them by thy grace: set up thy kingdom, O Jesu, in my heart; for to become thy faithful servant is more to me than to have the empire of this world. Raw near all ye that fearourLord; and

you soul; hear, and I will tell you what he hath done for yours, and the wonders of his bounty towards all the world. When we lay asleep in the shades of nothing, his almighty hand a wakened us into being; not to that of ftones, or plants, or beasts, over which he has made us abfolute lords; but to a body wonderfully made, and an immortal foul, little inferior to his glorious angels; he printed on our ouls his own fimilitude, and promised to our obedience a share in his own felicity; he endued us with appetites to live well and happy, and furnish'd us with means to satisfy those appetites; creating a whole world to serve us here, and providing a heaven to glorify us hereafter.
