Rivers of endless joys above, GA And rills of comfort here below.!!

2 Glory to thee, great Son of God From whose dear wounded body rolls A precious stream of vital blood,

"Pardon and life for dying souls."

3 We give thee, sacred Spirit, praise,
Who in our hearts of sin and woe
Makes living springs of grace arise,
And into boundless glory flow. b. la

4 Thus God the Father, God the Son,
And God the Spirit we adore;
That sea of life and love unknown,
Without a bottom, or a shore.

HYMN 100ukoZ

1 ALMIGHTY Maker of

frame,
my
Teach me the measure of my days;

Teach me to know how frail I am,
And spend the remnant to thy praise.

2 My days are shorter than a span,
A little point my life appears;
How frail at best is dying man!
How vain are all his hopes and fears.

3 Vain his ambition, noise, and show!
Vain are the cares which rack his mind!
He heaps up treasures mix'd with woe;
He dies, and leaves them all behind.

4 O be a nobler portion mine:
My God, I bow before thy throne;
Earth's fleeting treasures I resign,
And fix my hope on thee alone.

HYMN 101.

1 GOD of Eternity, from thee

Did infant-time his being draw;

Moments and days, and months and years, Revolve by thine unwearied law.

2 Silent and slow they glide away; Steady and strong the current flows, Lost in eternity's wild sea,

The boundless gulf, from whence it rose.

3 With it the thoughtless sons of men
Before the rapid streams are borne
On to that everlasting home,

Where not one soul can e'er return.

4 Yet while the shore on either side
Presents a gaudy flattering show,
We gaze, in fond amusement lost,
Nor think to what a world we go.
5 Great source of wisdom, teach my
To know the price of every hour:
That time may bear me on to joys
Beyond its measure, and its power.

GOD, who in various methods told

His mind and will to saints of old,

Sent his own Son, with truth and
To teach us in these latter days.

grace,

2 Our nation reads his written word,
The book of life, the true record:
The bright inheritance of heav'n
Is by this sure conveyance giv❜n.

3 God's kindest thoughts are here express'd,
Able to make us wise and bless'd;
The doctrines are divinely true,
Fit for reproof and comfort too.

4 O render thanks to God above,
For his rich grace and boundless love;
Let all mankind receive his word,
And every nation praise the Lord.

HYMN 103.

1 WELCOME sweet day of rest,

That saw the Lord arise;

Welcome to this reviving breast,
And these rejoicing eyes.

Praise ye the Lord. Hallelujah!

2 The King himself comes near,
And feasts his saints to-day;
Here we may sit and see him here,
And love, and praise, and pray.
Praise ye the Lord. Hallelujah!

3 One day amidst the place,
Where our dear Lord hath been,

Is sweeter than ten thousand days,
Of pleasurable sin.⠀ ⠀
Praise ye the Lord.

Hallelujah!

4 My willing soul would stay

In such a frame as this;

And sit and sing herself
To everlasting bliss.

away,

Praise ye the Lord. Hallelujah!

APPENDIX

TO THE

HYMNS.

HYMN 1.

1 GREAT God, we sing that mighty hand, By which supported still we stand:

The opening year thy mercy shews,
Let mercy crown it, till it close.

2 By day, by night, at home, abroad,
Still are we guarded by our God;
By his incessant bounty fed,

By his unerring counsel led.

3 With grateful hearts the past we own;
The future, all to us unknown,
We to thy guardian care commit,
And peaceful leave before thy feet.

4 In scenes exalted or depress'd,
Be thou our joy, and thou our rest:
Thy goodness all our hopes shall raise,
Ador'd thro' all our changing days.
