Without India's need to breed large numbers of work animals in or near their
villages, the Chinese had no reason to keep large numbers of cows to breed
oxen and therefore never were motivated to use milk as a by-product of their use
So why didn't the Chinese (or anybody else) ever milk their pigs? The answer is
that the pigs mammary glands are not suitable for milking. The whole physiology
of the pig reflects a strategy of nursing that is different from that of the ruminants.
