HYMN CXXI.

PSALM V.

I.

LORD! incline thy gracious Ear,
My plaintive Sorrow weigh!
To Thee for Succour I draw near,
To Thee I humbly pray.
Still will I call with lifted Eyes,
"Come, O my GOD, and King,"
Till Thou regard my ceafelefs Cries,
And full Deliv'rance bring.

II.

On Thee, O GOD of Purity,

I wait for hall'wing Grace;
None without Holinefs fhall fee
The Glories of thy Face:
In Souls unholy and unclean +
Thou never canft delight;

Nor fhall they, if § unfav'd from Sin,
Appear before thy Sight.
III.

But as for me with humble Fear,
I will approach thy Gate,
Tho' moft unworthy to draw near,
Or in thy Courts to wait;

I truft in thine unbounden Grace
Which is fo freely giv❜n,

And worship t'ward thine holy Place,

And lift my Soul to Heav'n.

IV.

Lead me in all thy righteous Ways,

Nor fuffer me to flide,

* Heb. xii. 14. † Pf. v. 4. § Matt. i. 21.

Point

Point out the Path before my Face,
My God be Thou my Guide!
O may I never to Evil yield,
Defended from above,

And kept, and cover'd with the Shield
Of thine Almighty Love!
