many as came with Peter, because, that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost; for they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Ghost as well as we: and he commanded them to be baptized in the Name of the Lord.— [Acts, 10: 44-48.]
And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed, and were baptized.[Acts, 18: 8.]
And now, why tarriest thou? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.—[Acts, 22 : 16.]
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death ; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father; eren so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.—[Romans, 6: 3-5.]
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.— [1 Corinthians, 12: 13.]
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. [Galatians, 3: 26-29.]
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit. By which also he went and preached unto the Spirits in prison ; which sometime were disobedient, when once the long suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto ever baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ : who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels, and authorities, and powers being made subject unto him.-[1 Peter, 3 : 18-22.]

Graciously grant unto him, O God, that he may be enabled to hold fast the faith of the gospel unto the end : may he increase in the knowledge of the Truth, and be deeply · rooted and grounded in it.
Assembly. We bless thee, O God, on behalf of this individual, and pray thee to keep him stedfast and unmoveable in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Minister.-Merciful Father, enable thy servant now before thee, to see the duty and necessity of giving himself up entirely unto Jesus Christ, and of abiding in him by a life of holiness, righteousness, and true godliness : and may the rite to which he is now attending forcibly remind him of thus living unto Thee. Baptize him, O God, by thy Holy Spirit, wash him thoroughly in the blood of Christ, and may he enjoy thy blessing in this present world, and obtain at length an abundant entrance into everlasting life and glory.
Assembly.—Gracious Father, grant unto this our Brother, that he may be truly baptized into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Minister.–O Lord, be gracious unto all present who have been baptized into Christ, that they may be reminded of the significant nature of this institution, and that they may take good heed unto themselves lest it should prove a witness against them in the day of judgment.
•Assembly.- O God, mercifully grant thy blessing to all present who have been baptized according to thy holy commandment, and may this rite never rise up in judgment ageinst us.

O wash them, and make them clean, with the blood of the Lamb, and grant unto them everlasting life.
Assembly.-0 God, mercifully look on all now before thee who have not believed in thy Son Jesus Christ; and in thy great mercy grant unto them, that they may now believe and be saved.
