4 To thy falvation, Lord, for aid,
We chearfully repair;

With banners in thy name difplay'd,
The Lord accept our prayer.

5. Our hopes are fix'd, that now the Lord
Our fovereign will defend :
From heav'n refiftless aid afford,
And to his pray'r attend.

PSALM 23.

HE Lord himself, the mighty Lord,
Vouchsafes to be my guide;

The fhepherd, by whofe conftant care,
My wants are all fupply'd.

2. In pastures fair he makes me feed,
And gently to repose;

Then leads me to the fhades, and where
Refreshing water flows.

3. He doth my wand'ring foul reclaim,
And, to his endless praife,
Inftruct with humble zeal to walk
In his moft righteous ways.

Thro' all my life extend,
That life to him I will devote,
And in his temple fpend.

PSALM 23. Q. V.

MY thepherd is the living Lord,

Nothing therefore I need;

In pastures fair near pleasant streams
He fetteth me to feed.

2. He fhall convert and glad my foul,
And bring my mind in frame,
To walk in paths of righteoufness,
For his moft holy name.

3. Yea, though I walk in vale of death, Yet will I fear no ill ;

Thy rod and staff do comfort me,
And thou art with me ftill.

5. Thro' all my life, thy favour is
So frankly fhew'd to me,

That in thy houfe for evermore,
My dwelling-place fhall be.

HIS fpacious earth is all the Lord's,
The Lord's her fullness is;

TH

The world, and they who dwell therein,
By fov'reign right are his.

But for himfelf, this Lord of all,
One chofen feat defign'd:
O! who fhall to that facred hill,
Defir'd admittance find.

3. The man, whofe hands and heart are pure, Whofe thoughts from pride are free; Who honeft poverty prefers,

To gainful perjury.

4. This, this is he on whom the Lord,
Shall fhow'r his bleffings down;
Whom God his Saviour fhall vouchsafe,
With righteoufhefs to crown."

5. Such is the race of faints, by whom
The facred courts are trod;

And fuch the profelytes, that feek
The face of Jacob's God.

The Lord, for ftrength renown'd?
In battle mighty, o'er his foes
Eternal victor crown'd.

3. Erect your heads, ye gates, unfold
In ftate, to entertain

The King of Glory; fee, he comes,
With all his fhining train.

4. Who is the King of Glory? who
The Lord of Hofts renown'd?

Of glory, he alone is king,
Who is with glory crown'd.

PSALM 25.

HY mercies and thy love,
Lord, recall to mind;
C 2

And

And graciously continue ftill,
As thou wert ever kind.

2. Let all my youthful crimes,
Be blotted out by thee;
And for thy wond'rous goodnefs fake,
In mercy think on me.

3. His mercy and his truth,

The righteous Lord difplays,
In bringing wand'ring finners home,
And teaching them his ways.
4. He thofe in justice guides,
Who his direction feek;
And in his facred paths, fhall lead
The humble and the meek.

5. Thro' all the ways of God,
Both truth and mercy fhine,
To fuch as with religious hearts,
To his bleft word incline.
