VERSION OF THE PSALMS, &c.

•HOW blefs'd is he who ne'er consents,

By ill advice to walk;

Nor ftands in finners' way, nor fits
Where men profanely talk.

2. But makes the perfect law of God
His bus'nefs and delight;
Devoutly reads therein by day,

And meditates by night.

3. Like fome fair tree, which, fed by streams,

ATTEND, O earth, whilft I declare,

God's uncontroul'd decree:

Thou art my Son, this day, my heir,
Have I begotten thee.

2. Ask and receive thy full demands,
Thine fhall the heathen be,
The utmost limits of the land
Shall be poffefs'd by thee.

3. Appeafe the Son with due refpect,
Your timely homage pay,
Left he revenge the cold neglect,
Incens'd by your delay.

4. If but in part his anger rife,
Who can endure the flame:

Then bleft are they whofe hope relies
On his moft holy name.

PSALM 4.

STAND ye in awe of God's commands,
Flee ev'ry thing that's ill:

Commune in private with your hearts,
And bend them to his will.

2. The place of other facrifice,
Let righteoufnefs fupply,
And let your hope, fecurely fix'd,
On God alone rely.

3. While worldly minds impatient grow,
More profp'rous times to fee;
Still let the glories of thy face,

Shine brightly, Lord, on me.

4. To Father, Son, and Holy-Ghoft,
The God whom we adore,
Be glory, as it was, is now,
And fhall be evermore.
