Love, thou bottomlefs abyss !
in chees Cover'd is my unrighteousness,
From condemnation I am free;
Mercy, free boundless mercy! cries. 2 With faith I plunge me in that sea ;,
Here is my hope, my joy, my rest?
I look into my Saviour's breast..
Mercy is all that's written there. 3 Tho' waves and storms go o'er my head,
Tho' strength, and health, and friends
Thom ev'ry comfort be withdrawn:
Father, thy mercy never dies !
Tho' my heart fail, and Aesh decay);
When earth's foundations melt away :: Mercy's full pow'r I then shall prove,, Lov'd with an everlasting love...
FOR THE SPIRIT OF ADOPTION,
Send forth the Spirit of thy Son ;
May Father, Abba, Father, cry!
Nor visit as á transient gueft;
1 And make my fogchis'lov'd abode,
The temple of th' in-dwelling God? 3 Come, holy Ghoft, my soul inspire,
Attest that I am born again;
Nor let thy former gifts be vain
O grant the earnest of my heaven.
1 That pow'rful ftamp I long to feel,
The fignature of love divine:
A PRAYER FOR GRACE,
I AH! Lord, how faithless is my heart,
How very apt from thee to stray ! Just like a broken bow I start,
And nature strives to bear the sway : Was ever one fo vile, so bleft!
So foul, yet by the Lamb caress'd ! 2 Forbid, O LORD, each vain desire,
And bind my passions to thy cross;
And bid me count my gain but lofs :
And Itablish in my scart thy throne. 3 O let thy grace wipe off my tears,
And fpeak the tempeft to a calm:
Be thoy a never-failing balm;
And fill my foul with heav'nly love. 4 Henceforth I'd ferve thee, if thou'lt pleafe
To gird me with an heav'nly pow'r;
Till all my pilgrimage be o'er :
92. CREATION AND REDEMPTION,
G Ive to our God immortal praise !
Mercy and truth are all his ways; Wonders of grace to God belong,
Repeat his mercies in your song. 2 Give to the Lord of lords renown,
The King of kings with glory crown ; His mercies ever shall endure,
When lords & kings are known no more. 3 He built the earth, he spread the sky,
And fixt the starry lights on high :
Repeat his mercies in your song. 4
He fills the fun with morning light, He bids the moon direct the night: His mercies ever shall endure, When suns & moons shall shine no more. 5 He sent his Son with pow'r to save
From'guilt, and darkness, and the grave: Wonders of grace to God belong, Repeat his mercies in your song, 6 Thro' this vain world he guides our feet, And leads us to his heav'nly seat ; His mercies ever fhall endure, When this vain world shall be no more.

AN HAPPY MOMENT.
AVIOUR, I do feel thy merit,
Sprinkled with redeeming blood;
Now finds reft in thee, my God:
Whilst in thy dear arıns I lie ;
Whilft the Saviour is so nigh. 2 Now I'll fing of Jesu's merit,
Tell the world of his dear name;
He is still the very fame :
He that seeks, is sure to find;
He will never cast behind.
With his Father and our God;
As the purchase of his blood :
“ They are freely justify'd."
