God is not Meat and Drink; but Righteoufnefs, and Peace, and Joy in the Holy Ghost. Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the Glory of God.

n Whatsoever ye do in Word or Deed, do all in the Name of the Lord Jefus.

Stand faft in the Liberty wherewith Chrift hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the Yoke of Bondage.

P The Wicked have faid, Who is Lord over us? Through the Pride of their Countenance they will not feek after God; God is not in all their Thoughts. Thy Judgments, O Lord, are far above out of their Sight; for they fay, The Lord feeth us not, the Lord hath forfaken the Earth: And none of them faith, Where is God, my Maker?

But they that have thus forgot or contemned God, and the Enemies of Chrift, which would not that he fhould reign over them, fhall be turned into Hell.

Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only fhalt thou serve.

Prepare your Hearts unto the Lord, and ferve him only. Take heed to yourfelves, that your Heart be not deceived, and ye turn afide and ferve other Gods, and worthip them.

Thus faith the Lord, Thou shalt have no other Gods before me. Thou fhalt know no God but me.

"Turn ye not unto Idols, nor make to yourfelves, molten Gods. Neither worship Idols of Gold, or Silver, or Brafs, or Stone, or Wood, which neither can fee, nor hear, nor walk.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven Image, or any Likenefs of any Thing that is in Heaven above, or that is in the Earth beneath, or that is in the Water under the Earth. Neither fhall ye fet up any Image, to bow down unto it ; the Similitude of any Figure, the Likeness of Male or Female, the Likeness of any Beast, Fowl, Fish, or any Thing that creepeth on the Ground. For Idols are Vanity, the Work of Errors; molten Images are Wind and Confufion: And they are without Excufe, who, when they know God, worship him not as God, but change the Glory of the uncorruptible God into an Image made like to corruptible Man, and to Birds, and four-footed Beafts, and creeping Things.

* Take ye good heed unto yourselves, left ye corrupt yourselves, and left ye lift up your Eyes unto Heaven, and when ye fee the Sun, and the Moon, and the Stars, even all the Hoft of Heaven, ye fhould be driven to worship them and ferve them.

y If I beheld the Sun when it fhined, or the Moon walking in Brightness, and my Heart hath been fecretly inticed, or my Mouth has kiffed my Hand: This were an Iniquity to be punished by the Judge; for I should have denied the God that

is above.

z Have no Fellowship with Devils; neither worship them, nor be Partakers of the Table of Devils. For what Communion hath Light with Darinefs? And what Concord hath Chrift with Belial ?

a Let no Man beguile you of your Reward in a voluntary Humility, and worshipping of Angels, or Men of like Paffions with you.

b Dearly beloved, flee from Idolatry; and ferve the living and true God who made Heaven and Earth; and worship no other God, neither do ye Service unto them, which by Nature are no Gods; nor change the Truth of God into a Lie; nor ferve the Creature more than the Creator; for the Lord is a jealous God.

O Lord our God, other Lords befides thee have had Dominion over us; but by thee only we will make mention of thy Name. For every one which feparateth himself from thee, and fetteth up Idols in his Heart, fhall bear the Punifliment of his Iniquity.

d Ye fhall not ufe Inchantment, nor obferve Times.

Regard not them that have familiar Spirits ; neither feek after Wizards to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.

f There fhall not be found among you any one that useth Divination, or an Obferver of Times, or an Inchanter, or a Witch, or a Charmer, or a Confulter with familiar Spirits, or a Wizard,

or a Necromancer: For all that do these Things are an Abomination unto the Lord.

There fhall be no more any vain Vision; nor Lying, or flattering Divination.

The Prophet which fhall presume to speak a Word in my Name, which I have not commanded him to fpeak; or that fhall fpeak in the Name of other Gods, even that Prophet shall die, faith the Lord.

i Woe unto the foolish Prophets that follow their own Spirit, and have feen nothing; that prophely out of their Hearts to flay the Souls that fhould not die, and to fave the Souls alive that should not live; who with Lies have made the Heart of the Righteous fad, whom the Lord hath not made fad, and ftrengthened the Hands of the Wicked, that he fhould not return from his wicked Way, by promising him Life.

FAITH.

* Have Faith in God: For without Faith it is impoffible to please God.

He that cometh to God must believe that he is; and that he is a Rewarder of them that diligently feek him.

m And this is his Commandment, that we should believe on the Name of his Son Jefus Chrift; who himfelf hath thus faid unto us, Ye believe in God, believe alfo in me: For he that rejecteth me, and

receiveth not my Words, hath one that judgeth him. The Word that I have spoken, the fame fhall judge him in the last Day.

See that ye refufe not him that fpeaketh; for if they escaped not who refused him that spake on Earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that fpeaketh from Heaven.

• Believe in the Lord your God, fo fhall ye be established; believe his Prophets, fo fhall ye profper; believe on the Lord Jefus Chrift, and ye fhall be faved. For according to your Faith, will it be unto you.

P Chrift was manifeft in thefe laft Times for us, who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the Dead, in whom, though now we fee him not, yet believing we rejoice with Joy unfpeakable.

Faith is the fubftance of Things hoped for, the Evidence of Things not feen. So then we walk by Faith, and not by Sight, while we look not at the Things which are seen, but at the Things which are not feen. For the Things which are seen are temporal: but the Things which are not feen are eternal.

We have respect unto the Recompence of the Reward; being fully perfuaded that what God hath promifed, he is able alfo to perform.

We have not yet received the Promifes, but having feen them afar off, we are perfuaded of
