James Clayton of North Carolina and His Descendants in the Old South-westQuill Publications, 1993 - 496 páginas Thomas Clayton (1755-1820) was born in Hyde County, North Carolina, the son of James Clayton (d. 1783) and grandson of James Clayton (d. 1762). He married Sarah Delamar (1765-1818), daughter of Capt. Francis Delamar, a Revolutionary War soldier, in 1784. They had eight children, 1787-1807, all but the youngest born in Craven County, North Carolina. The family migrated to Hancock County, Georgia, in 1804. He gave his land in Hancock County to two of his sons in 1816 and moved to land in Pulaski County, Georgia. Descendants listed lived in Georgia, Alabama, and elsewhere. |
