Faith Struggling with Unbelief.

1 CHRIST doth fave men in his love,
From death's fting, fin and hell;
Them he fits to fing above,"

And in his prefence dwell.
From our fears, Lord, us relieve;
To penitents thy word fpeaks life :
Thy fure promise I believe;
"Lord, help my unbelief."
2 Let my lamp be ready trim'd
Against the Bridegroom come;
Let my foul be well prepar'd
That with him I get room.
All believers thou'lt receive,
And bear up under fear and grief:
Thy fure promise I believe

3 Love brought Chrift down for to die,
Love laid him in a tomb;
Love caufed him afcend on high,
To find his people room.

All thy friends wilt thou revive,
In ftraits and fears grant them relief:

And in thy wounds on the cross,

When for us thou didft die.
Them thou loves who to thee cleave,
And of all friends thee count the chief
Thy fure promise I believe;

"Lord, help my unbelief."

5 Here 'tis fweet to view thy love, And fee thy face in part;

Far more fweet it is above

To fee thee as thou art.

Thou to meek ones life wilt give, And them wilt fave from fin and ftrife: 4 G 2

HYMN C.

CHRIST Our Shepherd. Pfal. xxiii.

I The Lord himself my shepherd is,
That doth me daily feed:
Since he is mine, and I am his,
He will fupply my need.

2 To verdant fields he doth me lead
For pafture and for reft,

3

4

Where living ftreams do gently glide;
He feafts me with the beft.

In love he doth my foul reclaim,
When from him do stray :
Not for my worth, but for his name,
He guides me in his way.
When I go thro' the fhades of death,
No evil then I'll fear:

His rod and ftaff, and heav'nly breath,
Will yield me comfort there.

5 In fight of all my deadly foes

Thou doft my table spread;
My cup with good things overflows,
Fresh oil anoints my head.

6 Goodness and mercy, I believe,
Shall wait me all my days ;`
And in God's houfe I'll ever live,
To trumpet forth his praise.

Quite faultlefs and complete,

With joys exceeding great;
To God our Saviour only wife
