Ver. 19. Go ye therefore, and teach all Nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghoft.

Ver. 20. Teaching them to obferve all things whatsoever I have commanded you.

HERE is the Apostle's Commission, confist

ing of four Commands.

I. Go.

1. Not stay in Judea.

2. But go over the World, S. Mar. xvi. 15.

II. Madnεúσate, teach, i. e. Disciple or make Difciples to me, out of all Nations, bring them over to my Faith and Religion; and fo the Word Manleva is always taken; as panleudeis, S. Matt. xiii. 52. ἐμαθήτευσε, S. Matt. xxvii. 57. μαθητεύσαντες inavès, on introduxerunt multos, and brought in many, Act. xiv. 21. And this must be the Sense, because, not all that were taught, but fuch as were Difciples were to be baptized. "Aidasnoves comes in after. And these Difciples were to be gather'd out of all Nations, S. Luk. xxiv. 47. S. Mar. xvi. 15. Ifa. xlix. 6. Act. x. 28. Ephef.

III. Baptizing them, &c. wherein obferve, 1. The way of making complete Disciples, or how they were to be initiated by Baptifm.

1. What is Baptifm? an initiating Sacra

2. Whether is this Place against InfantBaptifm? No, but for it; for Children are Disciples.

IV. Teaching them to obferve, &c. Hence arife thefe Doctrines.

1. DOCTRINE.

It is the Duty of the Minifters of Chrift to teach the Commands of Chrift. Or there are fome appointed in the Church of Christ, to teach the Commands of Chrift.

1. Who are appointed?
1. Not only Apostles,
2. But all Minifters.

To the conftituting a Minifter, is requir'd,
1. That he be apt to teach, 1 Tim, iii. 2.
