Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble,

His work is honour and majesty: And his righteousness endureth for ever. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered:

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

He hath given meat unto them that fear him:

He will ever be mindful of his coVenant.

He hath shewed his people the power of his works,

In giving them the heritage of the nations. The works of his hands are truth and judgment;

He hath sent redemption unto his people;

Praise ye the Lord.

Blessed is the man that feareth the
Lord,

That delighteth greatly in his com-
mandments.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness:

He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

Well is it with the man that dealeth graciously and lendeth ;

He shall maintain his cause in judgment.

For he shall never be moved;

The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance.

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings:

His heart is fixed, trusting in the
Lord.

His heart is established, he shall not be
afraid,

Until he see his desire upon his adversaries.

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy;

PSALM CXVI

I love the Lord, because he hath heard
My voice and my supplications.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto
me,

Therefore will I call upon him as long PRAISE YE THE LORD.

[blocks in formation]

I am thy servant, the son of thine handmaid;

Thou hast loosed my bonds.

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of
thanksgiving,

And will call upon the name of the
Lord.

I will pay my vows unto the Lord,
Yea, in the presence of all his people;
In the courts of the Lord's house,
In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.

PSALM CXVIII

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good :

For his mercy endureth for ever. Let Israel now say,

That his mercy endureth for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say,

That his mercy endureth for ever. Let them now that fear the Lord say,

That his mercy endureth for ever. Out of my distress I called upon the Lord :

The Lord answered me and set me in a large place.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear:

What can man do unto me? It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man.

It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in princes. The Lord is my strength and song;

And he is become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous:

The right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

The right hand of the Lord is exalted : The right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

I shall not die, but live,

And declare the works of the Lord.

The Lord hath chastened me sore: But he hath not given me over unto death.

Open to me the gates of righteousness:
I will enter into them, I will give thanks
unto the Lord.

This is the gate of the Lord;

The righteous shall enter into it. I will give thanks unto thee, for thou hast answered me,

We will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, we beseech thee, O Lord :

O Lord we beseech thee, send now prosperity.

Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

We have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.

I will delight myself in thy statutes:
I will not forget thy word.
Deal bountifully with thy servant, that 1
may live ;

And art become my salvation.

The stone which the builders rejected
Is become the head of the corner.

This is the Lord's doing;

Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed,

It is marvellous in our eyes.

This is the day which the Lord hath Which do wander from thy commandmade;

So will I observe thy word.

Open thou mine eyes, that I may
behold

Wondrous things out of thy law.
I am a sojourner in the earth:
Hide not thy commandments from me.
My soul breaketh for the longing
That it hath unto thy judgments at
all times.

Thy word have I laid up in mine heart,
That I might not sin against thee.

Blessed art thou, O Lord:
Teach me thy statutes.

With my lips have I declared
All the judgments of thy mouth.

I have rejoiced in the way of thy
testimonies,

As much as in all riches.

I will meditate in thy precepts,

And have respect unto thy ways.

Take away from me reproach and contempt;

For I have kept thy testimonies. Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes;

And I shall keep it unto the end.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law;

Yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

With my whole heart have I sought thee:

O let me not wander from thy com-
mandments.

From whence shall my help come?
My help cometh from the Lord,
Which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved.
He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel

Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper:

The Lord is thy shade upon thy right

hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day,
Nor the moon by night.

workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.

PSALM CXXII

I was glad when they said unto me,
Let us go unto the house of the Lord.
Our feet are standing

Within thy gates, O Jerusalem;
Jerusalem, that art builded
As a city that is compact together :
Whither the tribes go up, even the
tribes of the Lord,

For a testimony unto Israel,

To give thanks unto the name of the
Lord.

For there are set thrones for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem : They shall prosper that love thee.

Peace be within thy walls,

And prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions' sakes,
I will now say, Peace be within thee.
For the sake of the house of the Lord
our God

I will seek thy good.

PSALM CXXV

They that trust in the Lord

Are as mount Zion, which cannot be
moved, but abideth for ever.
As the mountains are round about
Jerusalem,

So the Lord is round about his people,
From this time forth and for ever-

more.

For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; That the righteous put not forth their hands unto iniquity.

Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good,

And to them that are upright in their hearts.

PSALM CXXVI

When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion,

We were like unto them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with
laughter,

And our tongue with singing:
Then said they among the nations,
The Lord hath done great things for

us;

Whereof we are glad.

Turn again our captivity, O Lord,
As the streams in the South.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

Though he goeth on his way weeping, bearing forth the seed;

He shall come again with joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

PSALM CXXX

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee,
O Lord.

Lord, hear my voice:

Let thine ears be attentive

To the voice of my supplications.
If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities,
O Lord, who shall stand?

But there is forgiveness with thee,
That thou mayest be feared.

I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait,
And in his word do I hope.

My soul looketh for the Lord,
More than watchmen look for the
morning;

Yea, more than watchmen for the
morning.
