not at prefent affert, certain it is that the ceremonial Part of the Law of Mofes muft be fuperfeded. And for this Reafon it is that the Meffiah is fo particularly defcribed by the Prophet Ifaiah as fetting up an Enfign to the Nations, that is, enlifting them under his Banner; and as † sprinkling many Nations, that is receiving them as Profelytes to his Doctrine, by the Form of Baptifm; And again fpeaking as from God, the fame Prophet fayeth, I will make an everlasting Covenant with you, even the fure Mercies of David, that is, the fure Mercies of fending his Son the Meffiah, which was promifed to David, Behold, I have given him for a Witness to THE PEOPLE, a Leader and Commander to the People. Behold, thou shalt call a Nation that thou knoweft not, and NATIONS that know not thee shall run unto thee. And again, The Redeemer fhall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from Tranfgreffion in Jacob, faith the Lord. Arife, fine for thy Light is come, and the

the Glory of the Lord is rifen upon thee For behold Darkness fhall cover the Earth, and grofs Darkness THE PEOPLE, but the Lord fhall arife upon thee and his Glory fhall be feen upon thee: And the GENTILES fhall come to thy Light, and Kings to the Brightness of thy rising. And therefore the fame Prophet alfo fayeth, * Neither Let the Son of the Stranger, that hath joyned himself to the Lord speak, Jaying, The Lord hath utterly feperated me from his People. For fays he again, In this Mountain shall the Lord of Hofts make unto ALL PEOPLE a Feast of Fat Things, Which Fat Things were prohibited to be eaten by the Mofaical Law, for all the Fat is the Lord's, fays Mofes, of Fat Things full of Marrow; a Feast of Wines on the Lees, well refined. And be will fwallow up in this Mountain the covering which covered all People, and the Vail that is spread over all Nations: That is, he will remove the covering of Darknets, wherewith the Gentiles were covered, and

the Vail by which they were feperated from his People of Ifrael: Than which one cannot well conceive any Prophetical Declaration to be more plain or more expreffive of Gods determined Purpofe, fome Time or other, to remove the Diftinction betwixt Jew and Gentile, by a Law which is to be published by the Redeemer when he cometh to Zion.

And to this Purpofe we fhall alfo find the Prophet Malachi to be very explicit, who wrote after the Babylonish Captivity was at an End, and who mentions the Hiftory of Efau and Jacob as being the Type of two diftinct Covenants; the one, that is, the old Covenant, made with the Seed of Abraham by Mofes, which is reprefented under the Type of Efau, who is the Flder Brother, and the other the New Covenant, made with all Nations by the Meffiah, which is reprefented by Jacob who was the younger Brother, and yet nevertheless got the Bleffing. For fays the Prophet, when speaking to the Children of Ifrael, I loved you fays the Lord: yet you fay, wherein baft thou Loved us? Was

Whereas Edom faith we are impoverished, but we will return and build the defolate Places. Thus faith the Lord of Hofts, they fball build, but I will throw down; and they i.e. the Heathen, shall call them, the Border of Wickedness and the People a gainst whom the Lord hath Indignation for ever. For from the rising up of the Sun unto the going of the fime, my Name fball be great amongst the Gentiles, and in every Place Incenfe fhall be offered unto my Name, and a pure Offering, for my Name fhall be great among the Heathen, faith the Lord of Hafts. Mal. i. 1. 11.

And accordingly we find that Prophet, who was promifed to the Children of Ifrael, when the Lord fpake unto Mofes, laying, *I will raise up a PROPHET from among their Brethren, LIKE UNTO THEE, and will put my Words in his Mouth, and he fball Speak unto them all that I command bim. And it fhall come to pass, that whofo
