HYMN CII.

I COME, thou fount of ev'ry bleffing,

Tune my heart to fing thy grace!
Streams of mercy, never ceafing,
Call for fongs of loudest praife..
Teach me fome melodious fonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise the mount-I'm fixt upon it,
Mount of God's unchanging love !&

2 Here I raise mine Ebenezer,

Hither by thy help I'm come;
And I hope by thy good pleature
Safely to arrive at home.

CH

Jefus fought me when a firanger, b
Wand'ring from the fold of God; I

He, to refcue me from danger,

Interpos'd with precious blood!

3 O! to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrain'd to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,

Bind my wand'ring heart to thee;
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,

Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, O take and seal it ;..
Seal it from thy courts above!

HYMŃ CIII.

1 Jesus, from whom all bleffings flow,
Great builder of thy church below,
If now thy Spirit moves my breast,
Hear, and fulfil thine own request.
2 The few that truly call thee Lord,
And wait thy fan&ifying word,
And thee their utmost Saviour own,
Unite and perfect them in one.

3 O let them all thy mind exprefs,
Stand forth thy chofen witnesses :
Thy pow'r unto falvation fhow,
And perfect holiness below.
4 In them let all mankind behold
How Chriftians liv'd in days of old,
Mighty their envious foes to move,
A proverb of reproach-and love.
5 O might my lot be caft with thefe,
The leaft of Jefu's witneffes!

O that my Lord would count me meet
To wash his dear difciples feet!

6 This only thing do I require;

Thou know'ft 'tis all my heart's defire; Freely what I receive to give, The fervant of thy church to live. 7 After my lowly Lord to go, And wait upon thy faints below, Enjoy the grace to angels giv'n, And ferve the royal heirs of heav'n. 8 Lord, if I now thy drawings feel, And ask according to thy will; Confirm the pray'r, the feal impart, And fpeak the answer to my heart.

9

I

Tell me, or thou shalt never go,
"Thy pray'r is heard; it fhall be fo;"
The word hath país'd thy lips, and I
Shall with thy people live and die.

HYMN CIV.

EVER fainting with defire,

Boy For thee, O Chrift, I call T
Thee I reflefly require,

I want my God, my All.

M

Jefu, dear redeeming Lord,

I wait thy coming from above;
Help me, Saviour, speak the word,
And perfect me in love.

2 Wilt thou fuffer me to go

Lamenting all my days?
Shall I never, never know
Thy fanctifying grace?
Wilt thou not the light afford,
The darkness from my foul remove
Help me, Saviour, fpeak the word,
And perfect me in love.

3 Lord, if I on thee believe,
The second gift impart;
With th' indwelling Spirit give
A new, a contrite heart;
If with love thy heart is ftor'd, ·
If now o'er me thy bowels move,
Help me, Saviour, fpeak the word,
And perfect me in love.

4 Let me gain my calling's hope,
O make the finner clean!
Dry corruption's fountain up,
Cut off th' intail of fin.
Take me into thee, my Lord,

And I fall then no longer rove:
Help me, Saviour, fpeak the word,
And perfect me in love.

5 Thou, my life, my treasure be,
My portion here below!
Nothing would I feek but thee,
Thee only would I know:

My exceeding great reward,

My heav'n on earth, my heav'n above

Help me, Saviour, fpeak the word,
And perfect me in love.

6 Grant me now the blifs to feel
Of thofe that are in thee;
Son of God, thyself reveal,
Engrave thy name on me;
As in heav'n be here ador'd,

And let me now the promise prove:
Help me, Saviour, fpeak the word,
And perfect me in love.

HYMN CV.

13

My God! I know, I feel thee mine,

And will not quit my claim,
Till all I have is loft in thine,
And all renew'd I am.

I hold thee with a trembling hand,
But will not let thee go.
Till fteadfastly by faith 1 fand,
And all thy goodness know.
3 Jefu, thine all-victorious love
Shed in my heart abroad;
Then fhall my feet no longer rove,
Rooted and fixt in God.

4 O that in me the facred fire

Might now begin to glow!

Burn up the dross of base defire,

And make the mountain flow!

W

50 that it now from heav'n might fall,
And all my fins confume;

Come, Holy Ghoft, for thee I call,
Spirit of burning, come.

Refining fire, go through my heart,
Illuminate my fou!;

Scatter thy life through ev'ry part,
And fanctify the whole.

I

7 Sorrow and fin fhall then expire,
While, enter'd into rest,

I only live my God t' admire,
My God for ever bleft.

8 My steadfast soul, from falling free,
Shall then no longer move;
But Chrift be all the world to me,
And all my heart be love.

HYMN CVI.

HAT now is my object and aim?
What now is my hope and defire ?
To follow the heav'nly Lamb,
And after his image afpire.
My hope is all center'd in thee;
I trust to recover thy love;
On earth thy falvation to see,
And then to enjoy it above.
I thirst for a life-giving God,
A God that on Calvary dy'd;
A fountain of water and blood,
Which gush'd from Immanuel's fide!
I gafp for the ftream of thy love,
The Spirit of rapture unknow;
And then to re-drink it above,
Eternally fresh from the throne.

J

HYMN CVII.

ESU, thy boundless love to me

No thought can reach, no tongue declare;
O knit my thankful heart to thee.

And reign without a rival there!
Thine wholly, thine alone I am;
Be thou alone my constant flame!
