4 Father, and shall we ever live
At this poor dying rate ?

Our love so faint, so cold to thee,
And thine to us so great ?

5 Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove,
With all thy quick'ning powers;
Come, shed abroad a Saviour's love,
And that shall kindle ours.

HYMN 3. C. M.

1 Father, I stretch my hands to thee,
No other help I know;

If thou withdraw thyself from me,
Ah, whither shall I go?

2 What did thine only Son endure,
Before I drew my breath;
What pain, what labour to secure
My soul from endless death!

3 O, Jesus, could I this believe,
I now should feel thy power;

Now my poor soul thou would'st retrieve,
Nor let me wait one hour.

4 Author of faith, to thee I lift
My weary, longing eyes;
O let me now receive that gift,
My soul without it dies.

5 O rih wi yo a gen ha ke,

O ne ta gwa da tya's;
Yah tha ta ak hwis henh he ye
Ne ji nen wa gye ren.

6 Ko wa nenh ye rih wa ne rax,

To genh ske ji jon da tre waht'

S. M.

5 Surely thou canst not let me die;
O speak, and I shall live;
And here I will unwearied lie,
Till thou thy Spirit give.

6 The worst of sinners would rejoice,
Could they but see thy face;
O let me hear thy quick'ning voice
And taste thy pardoning grace.

HYMN 4. S. M.

1 A charge to keep I have,
A God to glorify;

A never-dying soul to save,
And fit it for the sky.

2 To serve the present age,
My calling to fulfil ;

O may it all my powers engage,
To do my Master's will.

3 Arm me with jealous care,

As in thy sight to live;
And Oh, thy servant, Lord, prepare,
A strict account to give.

4 Help me to watch and pray,
And on thyself rely,

Assured if I my trust betray,
I shall for ever die.

HYMN 5. C. M.

Rejoicing and Praise.

1 Come, let us who in Christ believe
Our common Saviour praise;
To him, with joyful voices, give
The glory of his grace.

2 He now stands knocking at the door
Of every sinner's heart;

The worst need keep him out no more,
Or force him to depart.

3 Through grace we hearken to thy voice, Yield to be saved from sin;

In sure and certain hope rejoice,
That thou wilt enter in.

4 Come quickly in, thou heavenly guest, Nor ever hence remove;

But sup with us and let the feast
Be everlasting love.

HYMN 6. C. M.

Rejoicing and Praise.

1 Come, let us join our cheerful songs

With angels round the throne;

Ten thousand thousand are their tongues, But all their joys are one.
