[Alternative Tune No. 70.] NAILY, daily sing the praises

There the meadows, green and dewy,
Of the City God hath made;

Shine with lilies wondrous fair,
In the beauteous fields of Eden

Thousand, thousand are the colours
Its foundation stones are laid :

Of the waving flowers there.
Oh, that I had wings of Angels

Oh, that I had wings, etc.
Here to spread and Heavenward fly,

There the wind is sweetly fragrant,
I would seek the gates of Sion,

And is laden with the song
Far above the starry sky,

Of the Seraphs, and the Elders,
All the walls of that dear City

And the great redeemed throng. Are of bright and burnished gold,

Oh, that I had wings, etc. It is matchless in its beauty,

Oh, I would my ears were open
And its treasures are untold.

Here to catch that happy strain !
Oh, that I had wings, etc.

Oh, I would mine eyes some vision
In the midst of that dear City

Of that Eden could attain ! CHRIST is reigning on His Seat,

Oh, that I had wings of Angels And the Angels swing their censers

Here to spread and Heavenward fly, In a ring about His Feet.

I would seek the gates of Sion,
Oh, that I had wings, etc.

Far above the starry sky. Amen.

JERUSALEM, for ever bright,

The chains of sin, the tears of woe, J Beautiful land of rest!

The ransomed there will never know : No winter there, nor gloom of night,

Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
Beautiful land of rest!

Beautiful land of rest !
The clouds of earth are chased away,

Jerusalem, for ever dear,
The sun breaks forth in endless day :

Beautiful land of rest !
Jerusalem, Jerusalem,

Thy pearly gates almost appear,
Beautiful land of rest !

Beautiful land of rest!
Jerusalem, for ever free,

And when we tread thy lovely shore Beautiful land of rest!

We'll sing the song we've sung beforeThe soul's sweet home of liberty,

Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
Beautiful land of rest !

Beautiful land of rest! Amen.

Though we are sinners every one, 1 Oh, so bright!

JESUS died ! Where sin and woe are done away,

And though our crown of peace is gone, Oh, so bright!

Jesus died ! Where music fills the balmy air,

We may be cleansed from every stain, And Angels bright and pure are there,

We may be crowned with bliss again,
And harps of gold and mansions fair,

And in that land of pieasure reign :
Oh, so bright !

Jesus died !
No clouds e’er pass along its sky,

Then parents, sisters, brothers, come,
Happy land !

Come away!
No tear-drop glistens in the eye,

We long to reach our Father's Home,
Happy land !

Come away!
They drink the gushing streams of grace, Oh come, the time is gliding past,
And gaze upon the Saviour's Face,

And men and things are fleeting fast,
Whose brightness fills the holy place,

Our turn will surely come at last —
Happy land !

Come away! Amen.
