Sing on your heav'nly way Ye ransom'd sinners sing, Sing on, rejoicing ev'ry day In Christ th' eternal King.

Soon shall we hear him say,
"Ye blessed children come;"
Soon will he call you hence away,
And take his wand'rers home.

8.7.4. Praise to the Redeemer.

ROBINSON.

MIGHTY God! while angels bless

thee,

May thy children lisp thy name?
Lord of men, as well as angels
Be thou ev'ry creature's theme;
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Amen.

For the grandeur of thy nature,-
Grand beyond a seraph's thought,
For created works of power,-

Works with skill and kindness wrought.

Hal. &c.

3 For thy Providence, that governs
Through thine empire's wide domain
Wings an angel, guides a sparrow :
Blessed be thy gentle reign.-

Hal. &c.

4 But thy rich, thy free redemption,
Dark through brightness all along;
Thought is poor, and poor expression:
Who dare sing that awful song! -
Hal. &c.

5 Brightness of the Father's glory,
Shall thy praise unutter'd lie?
Fly, my tongue, such guilty silence!
Sing the Lord who came to die.-

Hal. &c.

6 From the highest throne in glory,
To the cross of deepest woe;
All to ransom guilty captives,
Flow my praise for ever flow.

Hal. &c.

Go, return, immortal Saviour!

Leave thy footstool, take thy throne Thence return, and reign for ever,

Be the kingdom all thy own.

Hal. &c.

ANON.

LORY to God on high,

Let heav'n and earth reply,
Praise ye his name!

His love and grace adore,
Who all our sorrows bore,
Sing aloud evermore,
"Worthy the Lamb.”

Join all ye ransom'd race
Our God and Lord to bless:
Praise ye his name!

In him we will rejoice,
And make a joyful noise,
Shouting with heart and voice,
"Worthy the Lamb!"

Though we must change our place,
Yet shall we never cease

Praising his name!

To him the songs we bring.
Hail him our gracious King,
And, without ceasing sing,
"Worthy the Lamb!

L. M. Praise for his loving kindness
MEDLEY

WAKE, my soul, in joyful lays,
And sing thy great redeemer's praise
He justly claims a song from me,
His loving-kindness, Ö how free!

He saw me ruin❜d in the fall,
Yet lov'd me notwithstanding all,
He sav'd me from my lost estate,
His loving-kindness, O how great!

3 When trouble, like a gloomy cloud,
Has gather'd thick, and thunder'd loud,
He near my soul has always stood,
His loving-kindness, O how good!

4 Often I feel my sinful heart
Prone from my Jesus to depart;
But though I have him oft forgot,
His loving-kindness changes not.

Soon shall I pass the gloomy vale,
Soon all my mortal pow'rs must fail;
O may my last expiring breath
His loving-kindness, sing in death!

100 L.M. Praise for Salvation. KELLY

WE

E sing th' praise of him who died, Of him who died upon the cross; The sinner's hope let men deride, For this we count the world but loss.

Inscrib'd upon the cross we see
In shining letters "GOD IS LOVE"!
He bears our sins upon the tree,
He brings us mercy from above.

The CROSS! it takes our guilt away,
It holds the fainting spirit up,
It cheers with hope the gloomy day,
And sweetens ev'ry bitter cup.

4 It makes the coward spirit brave,
And nerves the feeble arm for fight,
It takes its terror from the grave,
And gilds the bed of death with light.

The balm of life, the cure of woe,
The measure and the pledge of love;
The sinner's refuge here below,
The angel's theme in heav'n above.
