Palm Sunday.

1.

RIDE on! ride on in Majesty!

Hark! all the tribes Hosanna cry;
O Saviour meek, ride on Thy way,
With palms and branches strewn to-day.

Ride on! ride on in Majesty!
In lowly pomp ride on to die!
O Christ, Thy triumphs now begin
O'er captive death and conquered sin.

Ride on! ride on in Majesty!

The angel-armies of the sky

Look down with sad and wondering eyes,

To see the approaching Sacrifice.

Ride on! ride on in Majesty!

In lowly pomp ride on to die!

Bow Thy meek Head to mortal pain,
Then take, O GOD, Thy power and reign!

Reign on reign on in Majesty!
Reign on in triumph, Lord most High!
O Everlasting Three in One,

We praise Thee on Thy heavenly throne!

Amen.

2.

GChrist Lord, alone to Thee,
LORY, praise, and honour be,

Thee, to Whom, their heavenly King,
Children loud Hosannas sing!

Thee the sons of Salem greet ;
Thee with palms go forth to meet;
Thee with hymn, and prayer, and vow,
We rejoice to welcome now.

On Thy road to suffering they
Sought the meed of praise to pay;
We upraise, O Lord, to Thee,
High enthroned, our melody.

Ours be conquest pure and calm,
Lifted hearts our boughs of palm;
While our voices sing to Thee
This our song of victory.

Honour, glory, love and praise,
Be through never-ending days,
To the Father and the Son,
And the Spirit, Three in One.

Amen.

Holy Week.

1.

FIRST in sorrow, First in pain, Thou Lamb of GOD for sinners slain; Messiah, JESU, Lord of Life,

Thou mighty Victor in the strife,
Our Everlasting Priest art Thou,
Pleading Thy death for sinners now.

Eternal Victim, from Thy Side
Thy Love did pour a crimson tide;
And still Thy vesture dyed in blood
Gives token of the cleansing flood:
The Lamb for ever slain art Thou,
Pleading Thy death for sinners now.

O Lord of lords, and King of kings,
Thou Sun with healing on Thy Wings,
Pour down upon our darkened sight
The brightness of Thy living Light:
Eternal Victim! Great High-Priest !
O lead us to Thy heavenly Feast.

Amen.

2.

Gethsemane,

Go to dark Get the Tempter's power;
There your Saviour's conflict see,
Watch with Him one bitter hour!
Turn not from His griefs away,
Learn of Him to watch and pray.

See Him in the judgment-hall, Beaten, bound, reviled, arraigned; See Him meekly bearing all,

Still by heavenly Love sustained: Shun not suffering, shame, nor loss,Learn of Christ to bear the Cross.

Follow on to Calvary;

There the Lord of Glory view, Dying on the accursed tree, Made a Sacrifice for

you:

"It is finished," hear Him cry;

Look on Him, and learn to die.

Amen.

BOUND

3.

OUND upon the accursed tree,
Faint and bleeding, who is He?
By Thy Flesh with scourges torn,
By Thy Crown of twisted thorn,
By Thy last and bitter Cry,
By Thy dying Agony,

Son of Man, to Thee we call,
Low before Thy Cross we fall.

Bound upon the accursed tree,
Dread and awful, who is He?
By the sun at noon-day pale,
By the rending of the veil,
By the conquest Thou hast won,
By Thy glory on Thy throne,
Son of GOD, to Thee we call,
Low before Thy throne we fall.

Amen.
