Strive we in Affection, strive,
Let the purer Flame revive,
Such as in the Martyrs glow'd!
Dying Champions for their God.

Sing we then in Jesu's Name,
Now as Yesterday the fame,
One in every Age and Place,
Full of Love, of Truth and Grace:
Christ is now gone up on high,
(Thither may our Wishes fly)
Sits at God's right Hand above,
There with him we reign in Lore.

HYMN XVIL
Ti God in the highist.

GO D whose Glory sills the Heaven,
Unto Thee,
One in Three,

Ceaseless Bliss be given.

Thou shalt always be adored,

High enthron'd,

Prais'd and own'd, By thy Saints restored.

Thou hast drawn our Souls and loved,

We have known,

Thee our own,
Thee our Father proved.

Thou Thou hast us again begotten,

From the Dead,

We are freed, Heaven to us is open.

Thou in us, hast Christ revealed

Let us know, ...

Surely too,
We in Him are sealed.

Give us thine abiding Spirit,

Manifest,

In our Breasts <.. t • •.* . .' All our Saviours Merit.

HYMN XVni.

Finding tht Beloved.

/A Ye Sons of; Men Attend*

^ To the Language of my Tongjw,

Jesus is become my Friend,

Now my Jesus is my Sdng,

Lost and naked, him I sought,

I look'd, to sind him in the Night,

Now I to his Feet am brought,

And he fills me with his Light.

Satan, where is now thy Boast?
Hell ! O where is now thy Prey?
Where's the Lamb who late was Lost?
The poor Sheep, who went astray?
Lo! 'tis in the Saviour's- Arms*
'Tis in Jesu's Bosom laud,
I am got above thy Charms,
My great Price, my Debt is paid.

UnderUnderneath my Saviour's Wings,

Now I sit with great delight,

Full of Love my Spirit sings!

O the blessed glorious Sight!

Jesus, my Redeemer stands.

And shews his Wounds were made for me,

Keep me, Jesus, in thy Hands,

Fill! O sill my Soul with Thee.

HYMN XIX.
The Triumph of Faith.

^E A D of the Church triumphant!
We joyfully adore thee $
"ill thou appear,
Thy Members here
Shall sing like those in Glory.
We lift our Hearts and Voices
With blest Anticipation,
And cry aloud,
And give to God
The Praise of our Salvation.

While in Affliction's Furnace,

And passing thro' the Fire, .. .1 -...

Thy Love we praise,

Which knows our Days,
And ever brings us nigher. ,

We clap our Hands exulting,
In thine Almighty Favour,

The Love divine

Which made us thine Shall keep us thine for ever.

Thou

Thou dost conduct thy People
Thro' Torrents of-Temptation,
Nor will we fear,
Whilst thou art near,
The Fire of Tribulation.
The World with Sin and Satan
In vain our March opposes 5
By thee we shall
Break thro' them all,
And sing the Song of Moses.

HYMN XX.

,DLessed are the Sons of God,

"U They are bought with Christ's own Blood,

They are ransom'd from the Grave,

Life eternal they shall have.

God did love them in his Son,
Long before the World begun;
They the Seal of this receive
When on Jesus they believe.

They are justify'd by Grace,
They enjoy a solid Peace;
All their Sins are wash'd away,
They shall stand in God's great Day.

They alone are truly blest,
Heirs of God, Joint Heirs with Christ;
With them number'd may we be,
Here and in Eternity!

HYMN HYMN XXI.

2 Cor. i. 5. .'..-.

COME on my Partners in Distress,
My Comrades thro' this Wilderness,
Who still your .Bodies feel:
A while forget your Griefs and Fears,
And look beyond the vale of tears,
To that celestial Hill.

See where the Lamb in Glory stands,
Incircled with his radiant Bands,

And join th'angelick Powers:
For all that height of glorious Bliss,'
Our everlasting Portion is,

And all that Heaven is ours. .:

Who suffer for our Master here, .

We shall before his Face appear, .. t .' .

And by his Side sit down;
To patient Faith the Prize is sure,
And those that to the end endure

The Cross, snail wear the Crown.

Thrice blefsod Tjliss, inspiring Hope,
It lifts the fainting Spirits up,

It brings to Life the Dead;
Our Conflicts here shall soon be past.
And you and I ascend at last^ :,'. (,.';
