And will he write his Name,
My Father, and my Friend;
I love his Name,
I love his Word,
Join all my Powers,
And praise the Lord.

ESU, lover of my Soul,
Let me to thy Bofom fly,

While the nearer Waters roll,
While the Tempeft ftill is high:
Hide me, O my Saviour, hide,
'Till the Storm of Life is past,
Safe into the Haven guide,
O receive my Soul at last.

Other Refuge have I none,
Hangs my helpless Soul on thee,
Leave, O leave me not alone,
Still Support and Comfort me :
All my Truft on thee is ftay'd,
All my Help from thee I bring,
Cover my defenceless Head,
With the fhadow of thy Wing.

Thou, O Chrift, art all I want,
More than all in thee I find,
Raife the Fallen, chear the Faint,
Heal the Sick, and lead the Blind:

Juft

Juft and Holy is thy Name!
I am all unrighteousness,
Vile, and full of Sin I am,

Thou art full of Truth and Grace.

Plenteous Grace with thee is found,
Grace to pardon all my Sin,
Let the healing Streams abound,
Make and keep me pure within:
Thou, of Life, the Fountain art,
Freely let me taste of thee,

Spring thou up within my Heart,
Rife to all Eternity..

HOU God of glorious Majefty!
To thee, against myself, to thee,
A Worm of Earth, I cry;

An half awaken'd Child of Man,
An heir of endless Bliss or Pain,
A Sinner, Born to Die.

Lo! on a narrow Neck of Land,
'Twixt two unbounded Seas, I ftand
Secure; Infenfible!

A point of Time, a Monents space
Removes me to that heav'nly Place,
Or fhuts me up in Hell.

O God,

O God, mine inmoft Soul Convert,
And deeply on my thoughtful Heart
Eternal things imprefs;

Give me to feel their folemn Weight,
And tremble on the brink of Fate,
And 'wake to Righteousness.

Before me place in dread Array,
The Pomp of that tremendous Day,
When thou with Clouds fhall come
To judge the Nations at thy Bar,
And tell me, Lord, fhall I be there,
To meet a joyful Doom?

Be this my one great Bufinefs here,
With ferious Industry and Care,
My future Bliss t'enfure :
Thine utmoft Counfel to fulfill,
And fuffer all thy righteous Will,
And to the End endure.

Then, Saviour, then, my Soul receive,
Transported from the Vale, to Live
And Reign with thee above:
Where Faith is fweetly loft in Sight,
And Hope in full fupreme Delight,
And everlasting Love.

Longing to Worship and Praife God with Fear.

Eleftial King, our Spirits lie
Trembling beneath thy Feet,

And wifh, and caft a longing Eye,
To reach thy lofty Seat.

Seraphs,

:

Seraphs, with elevated Strains,
Circle thy Throne around,
And move and charm the ftarry Plains,
With an immortal found.

Jefus the Lord their Harps Employ,
Jefus, our Love they Sing;
Jefus, the Name of both our Joys,

Sounds fweet from ev'ry String.

Now may we rife and join their Song,
And be as Angels too;

Our Hearts, our Hands, our Ears, our Tongues,
Here's joyful Work for you.

We would begin the Mufick here,
And fo our Souls fhould rise;
O for fome heav'nly Notes, to bear
Our Spirits to the Skies.

There we that love the Saviour, fit
(There we would fain have Place,)
Amongst your Thrones, or at your Feet,
So we might fee his Face.

ADAM, our Father, and our Head
Tranfgrefs'd; and Justice doom'd us dead,
Great God we own th' unhappy Name,
Whence sprung our Nature, and our Shame.

But,

But, O unutterable Grace!

Th' Eternal Son takes Adam's Place !
Down to the World the Saviour flies,
Stretches his naked Arms, and Dies.

Amazing Work! look down ye Skies,
Wonder and gaze with all your Eyes;
Ye heav'nly Thrones, ftoop from above,
And bow to this myfterious Love.

HYM N N LXXVII.

It is Finish'd!

"TIS done! the Rocks are rent in twain, The Temple's Veil is torn,

The Saviour Dies, his parting Soul
To diftant Realms is borne.

'Tis finifh'd! the Meffiah's Dead,
He Dies, to Die no more;
Dies, that the Souls of mortal Men
To Heav'n may sweetly Soar,

He Dies, to fhut the Mouth of Hell,
To lead the Way to Heav'n;
Dies, that the heavy laden Soul
May ask, and be forgiv❜n.

Jefu, we afk, O hear our Pray'r,
Our Saviour, God the Son,
Forgive our Sins, our Pardon feal,
And whisper thou, 'Tis Done!
