A

Sincere Praife.

I.

LMIGHTY Maker, GOD!
How wondrous is thy name!

Thy glories how diffus'd abroad
Thro' the creation's frame !
II.

Nature in every dress

Her humble homage pays,
And finds a thousand ways t' exprefs
Thine undiffembled praise.
III.

My foul would rife and fing
To her Creator too,

Fain would my tongue adore my King,

And pay the homage due.

IV.

Let joy and worship spend

The remnant of my days,

And to my God, my foul, afcend,

In grateful fongs of praife.

HYMN XXX, Proper Tune.

Saints called upon to praise GOD.

I.

PRAISE ye the LORD; prepare a new fong,
And let all his faints in full concert join;
With voices united the anthem prolong;
And fhew forth his honours in mufic divine.

II.

Let praise to the GOD who made us afcend;
Let each grateful heart exult in its king;

For GOD whom we worship our fongs will attend,
And view with complacence the off'ring we bring.
III.

Be joyful, ye faints fuftain'd by his might,
And let your glad fongs awake with each morn;
For those who obey him are still his delight;
His hand with falvation the meek will adorn.

IV.

Then praise ye the LORD; prepare a new fong;
And let all his faints in full concert join;

And fhew forth his honours in mufic divine.

The Perfections and Providence of GOD.

I.

ITH all our pow'rs of heart and tongue,
We'll praife our Maker in our fong;

Angels

Angels fhall hear the notes we raise,
Approve the fong, and join the praise.

II.

Angels, who make his church their care,
Shall witness our devotion there;
While holy zeal directs our eyes,
To his fair temple in the skies.
III.

We bless our GOD, who reigns above,
Whofe thoughts are kind, whofe name is love;
Whose bounty thro' creation flows,
And life and blifs on all bestows.

IV.

He built the earth, he fpread the sky;
He fix'd the starry lights on high;
He fills the fun with morning light,
And bids the moon direct the night.

V.

His goodness crowns each op'ning day;
His wisdom guides our doubtful way;
He guards us by his pow'rful hand,
And brings us to his heav'nly land.
VI.

O let our fouls with joy record
The truth and goodness of the LORD:
How great his works! how kind his ways!
Let ev'ry tongue pronounce his praise.

HYMN XXXII. Long Metre.

GOD our Protector.

I.

E that hath made his refuge GOD, Shall find a moft fecure abode; Shall walk all day beneath his fhade, And safe at night fhall reft his head.

II.

He guides our feet, he guards our way,
His morning fmiles bless all the day;
He spreads the ev'ning vail, and keeps
The filent hours while nature fleeps.
III.

Then will I fay, "My GoD, thy pow'r
"Shall be my fortrefs and my tow'r;
"I, who am form'd of feeble duft,
"Make thine almighty arm my truft."
IV.

Up to the hills I lift mine eyes,
Th' eternal hills beyond the skies;
Thence all her help my foul derives,
There my almighty refuge lives.

V.

He lives, the everlasting Gop,

Who built the world, and spread the flood; He lives, and, by his heav'nly care, Preferves my life from ev'ry fnare.

HYMN XXXIII. Long Metre.

The daily Goodness of GOD.

I.

|REAT GOD, how endless is thy love! Thy gifts are ev'ry ev'ning new; And morning mercies from above Gently diftil, like early dew.

II.

Thou spreadft the curtains of the night,
Great guardian of our fleeping hours;
Thy fov'reign word reftores the light,
And quickens all our drowsy pow'rs.
III.

We yield our pow'rs to thy command;
To thee we confecrate our days:
Perpetual bleffings from thine hand
Demand perpetual fongs of praise,

Divine Condefcenfion to human Affairs.

O GOD who reigns above the skies
And views the nations from afar,
