Isaiah xxxii, 1. (L. M.)
1 OUR rest be here, the cross beneath,
The fittest place for such as we !
The debtors here alone are free.
In debt, and having nought to pay ;
Our safety by the cross to stay.
A shelter from the furious blast;
Until the storm be overpast.
The danger soon will pass away;
A blessed, bright, eternal day. 1217
1 Corinthians xv, 20—22. (7's.)
Our triumphant holiday :
Suffer to redeem our loss. 2 Hymns of praise then let us sing, Hallelujah,
Unto Christ our heav'nly King ;
3 For the pains which he endur’d, Hallelujah,
Our salvation have procur’d;
128 Isaiah xliv, 1–8. (P. M.)
Praise him, angels, in the height:
Praise him all ye stars and light:
Worlds his mighty voice obey'd ;
For their guidance, he hath made. 2 Praise the Lord! for he is glorious,
Never shall his promise fail ;
Sin and death shall not prevail :
Hosts on high, his pow'r proclaim ;
Laud and magnify his name!
Matthew xxiv, 30–31. (P. M.)
The end of things created;
On clouds of glory seated :
The trumpet sounds, the graves restore
Prepare, my soul, to meet him! 2 The dead in Christ shall first arise,
At the last trumpet's sounding,
With joy his throne surrounding :
On those prepar'd to meet him.
Isaiah xxxii, 2. (7's. double)
1 JESU, lover of my soul,
Let me to thy bosom fly;
O receive my soul at last.
More than all in thee I find;
3 Plenteous grace with thee is found,
Grace to cover all my sin:
Psalm cxlvii, 1. (P. M.)
1 MEET and right it is to sing,
In ev'ry time and place,
The God of truth and grace :
In one thanksgiving join,
Eternal praise be thine.
2 Father!—God! thy love we praise,
Which gave thy Son to die,
Alike we glorify.
Praise to thee be giv'n,
And earth is turn’d to heav'n.
3. (s. M.)
1 FATHER, in whom we live,
In whom we are and move,
Of thy creating love! 2 Incarnate Deity!
Let all the ransom'd race
For thy redeeming grace. 3 Spirit of holiness!
Let all thy saints adore
Ihine heart-renewing pow'r. 4 Eternal—Triune Lord!
Let all the hosts above,
And dwell upon thy love! 133
Luke xviii, 1. (c. m.) 1 SHEPHERD divine, our wants relieve,
In this our evil day;
The pow'r to watch and pray. 2 Long as our fiery trials last
Long as the cross we bear,
In never ceasing pray’r.
