3 Grace reigns, to pardon crimson sins,
To melt the hardest hearts!

And from the work it once begins,
It never more departs.

4 The world and Satan strive in vain
Against the chosen few;

Secur'd by grace's conqu'ring reign,
They all shall conquer too.

5 Lord, when this changing life is past,
If we may see thy face,

How shall we praise and love at last,
And sing the reign of grace?

Luke xxiii, 42. (C. M.)

1 O THOU, from whom all goodness flows, I lift my soul to thee;

In all my sorrows, conflicts, woes,
Jesus, remember me.

2 When on my aching burden'd heart
My sins lie heavily,

Thy pardon grant, new peace impart,
In love remember me.

3 When trials sore obstruct the way,
And ills I cannot flee,

O let my strength be as my day,
For good remember me.

4 If, for thy sake, upon my name
Shame and reproach shall be;

All hail reproach, and welcome shame,
If thou remember me.

5 When in the solemn hour of death,
I wait thy just decree,

Be this the prayer of my last breath,
O Lord, remember me.

6 And when before thy throne I stand,
And lift my soul to thee,

Then with the saints, at thy right hand,
Still, Lord, remember me.

2 Corinthians v, 14. (L. M.)

1 O COME, thou wounded Lamb of God,
Come wash us in thy cleansing blood;
Give us to know thy love, and pain
Is sweet, and life or death is gain.

2 Take our poor hearts, and let them be
For ever clos'd to all but thee;

Seal thou our breasts, and let us wear The pledge of love for ever there.

3 How can it be, thou heav'nly King, That thou should'st man to glory bring; Make slaves the partners of thy throne, And give them an immortal crown?

4 Ah! Lord, enlarge the scanty thought,
To know the wonders thou hast wrought;
Unloose our stamm'ring tongues to tell
Thy love immense, unsearchable !

5 First-born of many brethren, thou,
To thee both earth and heav'n must bow;
Help us to thee our all to give,
Thine may we die, thine may we live.

Psalm lxiii. (P. M.)

1 O GOD, my gracious God, to thee My morning prayers shall offer'd be ;

For thee my thirsty soul does pant; My fainting flesh implores thy grace, Within this dry and barren place,

Where I refreshing waters want.
2 O, to my longing eyes once more
That view of glorious pow'r restore,
Which thy majestic house displays!
Because to me thy wondrous love,
Than life itself does dearer prove,
My lips shall always speak thy praise.

3 My life, while I that life enjoy,
In blessing God I will employ,
With lifted hands adore his name ;
My soul's content shalt be as great
As theirs who choicest danties eat,
While I with joy his praise proclaim.

4 When down I lie sweet sleep to find,
Thou, Lord, art present to my mind;

And when I wake in dead of night,
Because thou still dost succour bring,
Beneath the shadow of thy wing,
I rest with safety and delight.

Matthew xviii, 19-20. (7's.)

1 JESUS, we thy promise claim,
We are gather'd in thy name;
In the midst do thou appear,
Manifest thy presence here.

2 Sanctify us, Lord, and bless ;
Breathe thy Spirit, give thy peace;
Come and dwell within each heart,
Light, and life, and joy impart.
3 Make us all in thee complete ;
Make us all for glory meet;
Meet t' appear before thy sight;
Partners with the saints in light.

Psalm civ. (L. M.)

1 BLESS God, my soul! thou, Lord, alone Possessest empire without bounds;

With honour thou art crown'd; thy throne
Eternal majesty surrounds.

2 With light thou dost thyself enrobe,
And glory for a garment take;

Heav'n's curtain stretch beyond the globe,
Thy canopy of state to make.

3 God builds on liquid air, and forms
His palace-chambers in the skies;

The clouds his chariots are, and storms The swift-wing'd steeds with which he flies. 4 As bright as flame, as swift as wind, His ministers heav'n's palace fill, To have their sundry tasks assigned, All proud to serve their sov'reign's will.

5 How various, Lord, thy works are found, For which thy wisdom we adore!

The earth is with thy treasure crown'd,
Till nature's hand can grasp no more.

Luke viii, 11-16. (c.M.)

1 ALMIGHTY God! thy word is cast,
Like seed into the ground;

Now let the dew of heav'n descend,
And righteous fruits abound.

2 Let not the foe of Christ and man,
This holy seed remove;

But give it root in ev'ry heart,
To bring forth fruits of love.
