FRIDAY EVENING.

THE Lord liveth, and blessed be my strong helper, and praised be the God of my, salvation.

The Lord shall root out all deceitful lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things.

Stand in awe, and sin not, commune with your own heart and in your chamber, and be still; offer the sacrifice of righteousness and put your trust in God.

There be many that say, "who will show us any good." Lord lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Serve the Lord in fear, and rejoice unto him with re

verence.

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in time of trouble.

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee, for thou Lord never forsakest them that trust in thee. Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR GRACE.

Forasmuch as our whole trust is in thy mercy, O Lord, impute not to us our former trespasses and sins, strengthen us henceforth by thy blessed Spirit, that we, through thy grace, may be doers of the word, not hearers only, and keep all thy commandments blameless, that thy favour may never depart from us, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

Our Father, which art in heaven, &c.

COLLECT.

Almighty God, who hast given thine only Son to be unto us both a acrifice for sin, and also an

ensample of godly life; give us grace that we may always most thankfully receive that his inestimable benefit, and also daily endeavour ourselves to follow the blessed steps of his most holy life; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER THAT WE MAY IN ALL THINGS LOOK TO JESUS CHRIST.

In every comfort and enjoyment of life may we look unto Jesus, and receive it as proceeding from his love and mercy.

In every tribulation and distress that may come upon us, may we look unto Jesus and mark his gracious and correcting hand. In every infirmity, and in every failing, may we look unto Jesus our merciful High Priest, who maketh intercession for transgressors. In every prayer that we make unto God, let us look unto Jesus, our prevailing Advocate with the Father.

In every temptation may we flee unto Jesus, the Author of our strength, and the Captain of our salvation, but above all when the hour of our departure approaches, when our flesh and our heart faileth, in that awful trial may we look up and behold our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, standing at the right hand of God to succour his people in their greatest need and last extremity; then may we steadfastly look unto Jesus, and be received for ever by the Lord's Christ into everlasting joy and felicity. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

SATURDAY MORNING.

TRUST in the Lord and do good, so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in him and he shall bring it to pass.

Pray to thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

For the Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Be not afraid of them which kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do, but I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear fear him which after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell; yea I say unto you, fear him.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS OF SINS.

O Lord, give us grace both to fear and to love thy holy name, and evermore to trust in thee for forgiveness of our sins, through the meritorious atonement of our blessed Saviour; and grant to us henceforth to live to thee in all purity and holiness, that at the awful day of judgment we may be found in Christ, and be saved to a glorious eternity, through his most precious blood, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN PRACTICE.

Thy word, O Lord, is a lantern unto our feet, and a light to our paths, for it showeth unto us how we ought to walk, and turn neither on the right hand nor on the left, but even that way which thou hast appointed, that we may live and please thee.

Thy law also is a perfect and undefiled law, giving wisdom to the simple; thy statutes are right, and rejoice the heart; thy commandment is pure, and giveth light to the eyes. We render unto thee, O heavenly Father, hearty thanks for this spiritual nourishment. We most humbly beseech thee to give us grace not only to be hearers of the word, but doers also; not only to love, but also to live according to thy Gospel; not only to profess, but also to practise thy blessed commandments, that we may show forth the same in our conversation and living, unto the honour of thy name, and our own great and endless comfort, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

COLLECT.

Keep we beseech thee, O Lord, thy Church with thy perpetual mercy, and because the frailty of man, without thee, cannot but fall, keep us ever by thy help from all things hurtful, and lead us to all things profitable for our salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

SATURDAY EVENING.

THEN they that feared the Lord, spake often one to another, and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.

And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked; between him that serveth God, and him that serveth him not.

For the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS.

Forgive us, O Lord our God, our heavy transgressions; lay not to our charge our levity of mind, our forgetfulness of thee, our ingratitude in not marking the mighty hand which is ever extended over us for our good.

O Lord, deliver us from our blindness and apathy, and from this time forward let thy blessed Spirit animate us to love and fear thee with all the powers of heart and mind, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.
