SATURDAY EVENING.

THOU shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Seek first the kingdom of heaven, and its righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. For I say unto you, except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, do ye even so to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR CONFIDENCE AND COMFORT.

O Lord, look down from heaven; behold, visit, and relieve thy servants. Look upon us with the eyes of thy mercy, give us comfort and sure confidence in thee, defend us from the danger of the enemy, and keep us in perpetual peace and safety; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

THANKSGIVING.

O Lord most holy, we praise and magnify thy holy name, for preserving us in soul and body to the close of another week; bless and defend us this night with thy heavenly grace, let our rest be in thee, and keep us ever in the arms of thy mercy and providence.

Compass us about with thy protecting care, and raise us up to the joyful sight of the next morning's light; and when our time shall be accomplished, and we descend to the valley of the shadow of death, forsake us not, O Lord, but let thy rod and thy staff lead us to a joyful resurrection in the Lord Jesus, our Redeemer. Amen.

COLLECT.

Let thy merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of thy humble servants; and that they may obtain their petitions, make them to ask such things as shall please thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

SUNDAY MORNING.

KEEP thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools.

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are round about him.

Honour and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name, bring an offering, and come into his courts.

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, fear before him all the earth.

This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

For the glory of thy name, O Lord, be merciful unto us, who are sorrowful and grieved at heart, that we have so often sinned against thee, and done evil in thy sight. Remember not our sins, O Lord, but let thy Holy Spirit purify and cleanse our hearts from all unrighteousness; so that at the last we may be found among the redeemed of thy people, through the atonement of Jesus Christ our blessed Saviour. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

COLLECT.

O Lord Jesu Christ, who at thy first coming didst send thy messenger to prepare thy way before thee; grant that the ministers and stewards of thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at thy second coming to judge the world, we may be found an acceptable people in thy sight, who liveth and reigneth, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

PRAYER FOR A DUE OBSERVANCE OF THE SABBATH.

To thee, most merciful Creator and Preserver, we humbly dedicate ourselves, our souls, and bodies this day, to be guided and governed by thee now and evermore. Grant that we may walk before thee in the constant awe of thy holy presence; give us such a devout and heavenly frame of mind, that we may lift up our hearts unto thee in adoration and praise, in resignation and thanksgiving. Lord, teach us how to pray, how to hear, and read thy holy word: give us courage and wisdom to do our duty on every occasion; that being sanctified with thy grace, we may live in thy fear and service, and die in thy favour, and at the general resurrection at the last day may be numbered with thy saints in glory everlasting; through the merits of thine only Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

SUNDAY EVENING.

THE blessing of the Lord is upon them that fear him, and upon such as put their trust in his mercy.

The Lord is a strong tower, whereunto we may always resort; he is the defence of them that put their trust in him. I have been young, and now am old, yet never saw I the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging their bread.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through, and steal.

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through, nor steal.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

O God, whose nature and property is ever to have mercy and to forgive, receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound with the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of thy great mercy loose us, for the honour of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.
